Any longer and might as well redshirt and save a year
Do you think Kolton Mitchell should red-shirt? He will be out potentially much longer.

^I thought Kolton said he should be back sooner rather than later. He needs this year.

Unless you're medically redshirting a guy, it's basically pointless... Former PG Tre Wood posted the following on Twitter over the weekend in reply to an anonymous UMass fan.

Nothing left to do but sit and wait at this point. Hopefully he is back sooner than later because the team is hitting it's stride and he was expected by many to be a key piece this season.

I really appreciate what Tre wrote. Wisdom beyond his years.

It is what it is. If Sy needs more time, gotta go with what we got. Hope he's back at some point

Surprised about Kolton. Wonder how long he could be out and if a long period, do you save the year?

I’m glad that most folks are on the let’s be patient and just wait train now; it’s for the best.

Seeing the same posts everyday, “where is Sy!?”, “it’s 8am! any updates yet?! Somethings fishy”, just didn’t look well on our part.

No problem with the no comments on Chatman, these seem like sensitive issues that require some privacy.

Yep, just hope all is well with Sy. I still have no problem with the reporters asking the questions, that's the job, but at this point you just wish the best for him and welcome him back when he's ready.

I think we're looking at a very similar situation as the RH suspension 2 years ago.

^ and ^^
That's been my concern, that there could be an academic issue that needs to be fully squared away before he appears in games.

I have no inside track on what the reality is, and I hope the best for Sy and whatever he's going through.

I think it was Walfish that said he did not get the feeling this was like the Holloway situation. I have no idea what in the hell is going on, just hope Sy has the support he needs to get himself back with the team.

What's different on the surface from the Holloway situation is the reference to his family.

I have a feeling they learned a lesson from the Holloway situation. They didn't say anything and everyone speculated about his weight, his drive, and everything else under the sun. They never wanted to say it was academics because it was an internal/team/department imposed suspension and not NCAA, and that might be the case here too.

I'm 100% speculating here... this just seems to be the same thing, with the only differences being the family reason and with this being in the first semester and that being in the 2nd semester.
