as someone who lives a stone's throw away from SDSU, this makes me very very happy.
As someone who lives a 15 minute walk away, and has a friend who has season tickets, likewise.

I wonder if Holloway played today, has been out with a hammy injury and not practicing lately

Just saw this. Excellent competition.

Mohegan Sun is also close enough to have a nice fan base there. I’ve never been, and why not take a few days off to enjoy some Texas hold ‘em and UMass basketball.

I’m still trying to figure out who’s better at their job: Sienascoop at reporting on secret scrimmages or Mark Whipple at coaching

Haha bingo.. I wouldn’t look to far into the accuracy of the statement.. also these scrimmages are often used to test & try things out.. Especially with this many new players it will take time to gel

Correct. Coaches use these to work on specific plays, situations, etc. Similar to an all-star caliber pitcher getting shelled in a spring training game because he wanted to work on his changeup for 3 innings. I wouldn't put too much stock into the results of the scrimmage (which we don't actually know yet).

I'll be concerned if UMass is shelled by Westfield State by 20 points. Until then, no worries.

This is the most concerning news I have seen. The last thing we need is a leg injury that impacts Rashaan's conditioning. I hope it's very minor. My guess is that he doesn't play against Westfield State. Anyone have more info on this?

I agree it is very concerning in regards to his conditioning. Holloway got very out of shape from a hand injury when he could have still gone for a run. A leg injury has the potential to hurt his conditioning significantly more.

The only gold news here is we have a lot more depth this year and more threats. KTM had a good year for a freshman big. It is very different as an 18 year old big getting banged around by 22 year olds vs a 18 year old guard working speed around the perimeter. In addition we have more people in the 3/4 size group. Hopefully if Holloway is a no show like last year we will be able to work around it better.

My expectations for the team will take a nosedive if Rashaan can't contribute. His twitter feed doesn't say anything about it. Actually, after reading through about two months of his feed, I sincerely wanted to write, "His twitter feed don't say nothin' about it."
