Game 33, 2017-18: vs George Mason, A10 Rd 2 (3/8)

Post by inthescoop » Thu Mar 08, 2018 10:53 am

Opponent: The Patriots of George Mason
Spread: -1.0 GMU, Over/Under: 146.5
ESPN's Basketball Power Index: UMass 55% chance of winning
Coverage: NBCSports

Match-up of the day: LuWane Pipkins vs Otis Livingston II.

-----
Game is in a few hours, and no game thread is up, so I will take the honors and pop my game thread cherry and create my first one.

It's 10:50AM and my manager is not in the office, looks like he is working from home, and if that stays to be the case till around 1:45, I am sneaking out of the office and go work from home to watch some UMASSSSSS basketballllll. Or maybe since it's on NBCSports, there is a way to watch it online as well? But damnit, I wanna be a rebel

This game is 100% winnable and I been saying the winner of last nights game was going to win this one. I love our draw, and we should take it 1 game at a time but St. Joe's can be beatable as well.

WE ARE ONLY 1 POINT UNDERDOGS. We were 6 point underdogs against La Salle. Over under is 146.5.

ESPN's Basketball Power Index actually has us as the favorites. 55% chance of winning.

I was hopeful they'd win last night but today I expect them to win. I was more worried about last night's game than today's.

At what point do people start making the trek down to DC? For me, I think the answer is tomorrow if we win today.

LET'S WIN THIS GAME.

First - congrats on popping that game thread cherry

Second - you should be able to watch either online or via the NBCSports App with your cable credentials. HOWEVAH (stephen a smith voice) it will be much sweeter to watch at home with a cold beer in hand 8)

With Holloway and Pipkins, we shoot 18% from 3 and 38% from the floor and lose by 8 in OT. Without Holloway and Pipkins, we shoot 37% from 3 and 41 percent from the floor and we lose by 2 via crazy buzzer beater. We were outrebounded by GMU by 10 in the first game, and we outrebounded them by 8 in the second game.

Third and final game will be a toss-up. Hard to beat the same team 3 times in a season in the A-10 right? :D

KenPom has us as 1 point favorites.

They already have more steals in this game than they had all game yesterday.
