Odukale is visiting Pitt in a couple of weeks.

I'd be very surprised if Femi Odukale is a UMass Minuteman next season at this point. But stranger things have happened.

Simply because of the other visits, or due to something else?

Saw that VCU, Xavier, Oklahoma, and Indiana have all reached out to Odukale now.

Shoot The Jay
VCU has offered 2020 Springfield Commonwealth (MA) Center Isaiah Richards
There are still questions about his potential eligibility, but he seems like a good fit as a backup to Tre, mobile and athletic.

I remember thinking the same thing with Tre last year when he was making visits to Notre Dame and other P5 schools...there's a lot of things that go on behind the scenes that none of us know. What we have going for us is his relationship with not only Bergeron, McCall and the other coaches, but also the players. He has been on campus several times and if I heard correctly, went to URI the other night to watch them, so he has gotten to know them pretty good and seems to feel very comfortable here.

From what a few reputable guys have said on here, Femi has given a VERY strong indication that he will be coming here. I will never forget when Donta Bright was being recruited...long before the internet and message boards. I had a good friend who's father worked at Umass and was very close to the program. He kept asking Bill Bayno why he was so confident Bright was coming here...his answer - "because he told me he was". I know Bergeron himself has not come out and said this, but people close to him have said it, so sometimes your word is your bond and you just have to be patient and hope its true.

Javohn Garcia put up 24 points in a recent win for Brewster. He's been getting better as the season has gone on and sounds like a tenacious defender. He's playing very well on a team that's loaded with High D1 talent.
Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Saw the Rivals dude Corey Evans put down his thesaurus long enough to answer a question about Pitt and Odukale. He seems to think they have a pretty strong shot at him. No idea if he has any insight but that doesn’t sound very promising for us.

Yeah, I just had a look at their page. It's interesting. They can't seem decide if he is in the SG category or PG. Pitt is listed as P5 competition (warm) and Seton Hall (cool). No Virginia Tech or any of those other big names we heard about. They have him ranked as 374th in the country, which isn't that impressive. But they also have him as 4th in New York. I can't comprehend that the 4th best player in NY would be as low as 374th nationally.

There was only 1 voter and it was Mike Traini on 1/23 before all of the other offers came in.

Len, if you click on "View Complete Team List" at the bottom you'll see all of the other offers. He can probably play SG and PG but a couple of the schools said they are recruiting him as a PG.

Maybe they're using the Iowa caucus method.

^ not liking 50/50. Odds seem to be going down for us. C'mon Femi, UMass is the spot. Be part of the resurgence and help put UMass back on the map

Seems like we should really want Femi, and I would love to get him on the team, but if he goes elsewhere I still think MM and TB should be able to find a talented true PG. It’s a golden opportunity to compete for a slot right away and play with some very talented scorers. If not 2020 then 2021.
