Thanks for the update. I would love to land Femi, and if his grades are OK I'd like him to bring Richards with him. Richards is just the type of player we need to back up Tre, a kid who can defend and rebound and he certainly has better offensive skills than Djery.
Richards is good...if he was going to be eligible next year he would be going to UMass
So are you saying he won’t be eligible or the situation is not clear?
He has another shot to get the scores but it’s unlikely...if he gets them he’ll end up here.
Possible juco for a year, come here sit a year, then play 3

Who is Richards? I checked our recruiting page on 247 and name-searched him with “UMass” on twitter but couldn’t find anything about him.

Teammate of Femi's in Springfield and also a high school teammate. He' a mobile 6'9 or 6'10 center.

Mentioned in the other thread, I saw Dyondre at the game. Looks like Chad Venning was also there.

247Sports reports that it was Vennings unofficial visit.

Given what I am seen from the Woodstock kids who have come in - for the most part fundamentally sound players with a strong desire to win - I'm now on the side of bring in every quality kid from Woodstock that we can. Clearly Bergeron has done a great job coaching these kids in prep school and since he hand picked his successor, I am pretty sure his influence there will continue.

Richards sure would be a nice piece to add. Seems to post big rebounding and decent scoring totals each game. Sounds like a mobile kid who plays good D. Should fit right in

Vennings looks like a big kid.. Not sure if his body fits our style. I've only seen short clips so i'm saying I really have no idea.

I’m confused on the hype w the Femi kid?
Looking at our 2020 class on 247 Femi is only one not committed and also the only one not 3 stars .... he has 2 stars is the 424 ranked nationally ..... what am I missing !?!

That those rankings generally don’t mean jack shit and that they aren’t updated a ton.

"As good of a guard defender as you'll find in the country" is a pretty good compliment. Sounds like he and McCrory are tough, tough defenders

Saw that Pitt has now offered Odukale. Would love to think we hang in there and get him to join the party, but I think it’s gonna be tough...

He can get just as much exposure at umass as a place like Pitt.. not as concerned about schools at that level.. its if the real big boys come calling. He has a relationship with TB, knows the school and the guys, and can be a 4 year starter. Fingers crossed
