I really hope playing 2 sports is important to him because UMass can and should give him that opportunity and likely the best shot at significant playing time at both.

With the two sports he plays, it is difficult, because they overlap seasons. Remember Julius did it....but very few others.

All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

^ Julius played intramural football until Coach Leaman found out and put an end to that!

Left the Peppers off sorry. Wasn't referring to UMass. Julius Peppes played hoops and obviously football for UNC.

Ray Ellerbrook played baseball as did Tom Austin. There have been football, baseball combos.
Interesting double here since UM just brought in two (2) 6'5" QBs in the class ahead of his and neither of them will see the field before he arrives.

Baseball Football are separated by the winter, so it is “easier” to double there. Doubling in sports that are back to back is not common. You miss the preseason meetings/training for winter sports while practicing and playing the fall sport.

We had a FB player, wide receiver I think, that went out and tried out for BB and had quite a career for the BB team. Can't remember his name but I think that he was from Springfield.

It can be done and I am exhibit A: I played both intramural flag football and hoops.

He would be a hoops walkon, so maybe it could work.

Andy McClay. FB punter and a BB walk-on. He's the last one I can recall.
