I know changes had to be made here and I know that Tre Mitchell has huge potential, but I can’t be the only one who thinks this is a complete cluster. By my count, we will likely have 8 freshmen on the roster next year. Four guys McCall recruited, three transfers and a freshman are gone. One guy he recruited who committed here is now going to go elsewhere. I know, I’m being too negative and UMass will be a top 4 team in the A10 next year. 😂😂😂
78, I know its a fucked up situation with a ton of uncertainty, but I'd rather ride with this fresh crew than continue on with the cast of last year. There will be more talent here next year overall than there was last year, and hopefully a better culture. Give it time

I would say that he's our #1 target right now.

appears to be a mature young man who could be a big help next season.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Nope. 6-5 juco wing originally from Canada. If they are gonna be pushing the pace he seems like he could be an ideal fit. Pretty explosive, good size, might be able to create a bit off the dribble. Would also bring a little balance to the roster as a junior.

Looks like a good player and an explosive athlete. We could use the maturity and experience. Looks like he can play the 2 or 3. Could sell him on a great chance to start right away and being a team leader out of the gate.

I'm guessing some of the freshman would be redshirting as well to balance things out a bit. No way everyone will get minutes

If we get maidoh I could see him red shirt. Could also see buggs redshirt

Is McCall relying on Clergeot as the PG? With who or what as backup? This seems like a recipe for disaster; one that he can ill afford. Oh, the seeds of doubt are sown. Whoever said he needs to sign a JUCO/post grad PG and a freshman PG had it about right. Doesn't matter much if all the other parts are in place if you have no one who knows how to run the show. And with the Thomas decommit, the team has only 2 bigs who may, or may not, make it beyond next year. Stop with the "combo guards" and wings! Ummmnnnn, wings. :)

That article states that Lucious Jordan is an assistant. Moving guys from Ops to coach.

He has a really solid point guard on campus right now. And keon showed last year he is more than capable of running the point

Next guy isnt always the best guy. Buggs looks like a sleeper to me and has been a huge booster of the program through the tough times. Not always keen on overrecruiting and the fall out.

I don't think we are really recruiting over him. He is combo guard the guys we brought in are more 2/3's not 1/2's

I would be happy if they added two point guards but if they only add one (which seems likely) then Clergeot will manning the spot for some minutes. Not ideal as I don’t think he is a point guard at all, but I think having Mitchell who is supposed to be a good passer could mitigate that a bit if they run the offense through him.

With the way the game has been heading, I don’t think you can have too many wings or too much shooting. No idea if Miller-Moore can shoot but It sounds like he could help right away with his defense and driving.

And if the plan is to press (something we have been hearing for years now but maybe it happens with Bergeron coming onboard) then having a bunch of bodies like Diallo/Pierre/Miller-Moore/Santos/Weeks on the wing is a good thing. And if they want to switch everything in the half court, then having all these guys is an even better thing.

Then you have Mitchell/Baptiste/KTM as your bigger bigs, Chatman/Maidoh (if he commits) as your smaller bigs. Your guards are Keon/Point Guard X (hopefully Adams-Woods)/Buggs. Not everyone is gonna play but it seems like a sound setup.

Anyways the three dudes I want (if we aren’t getting two point guards) are Adams-Woods (or that Brown kid), Miller-Moore, and Maidoh. I say this based on not very much. That seems to be the hip thing to do and I’m nothing if not hip.
