Tough weekend to be in South Carolina. I don't think 40" of rain will be very appealing.

I just have a hunch that visit has been postponed.
Kidding aside, McCall is not afraid to compete with the big programs. He wouldn't waste his time, so that tells me we're eventually gonna get some of these guys.

It was reported that we were recruiting in Florida this week. Another offer to a "big", this time a JUCO who will have 3 years of eligibility. Don't know if he was injured or if it was grades, but he only played 5 games last year and got a red-shirt exemption.

Saw that the Buie kid committed to Northwestern...

I follow recruiting and get into it and in the past I might fret a bit about kids visiting/choosing P5 schools over us. But in thinking about it, I don’t necessarily care who we pick up, McCall and his staff seem to know what they are doing.

I think for the most part he (and they) have shown that they are pretty good judges of talent. McCall’s UTC recruits have proven they can play (including a couple at the A10 level) and while the jury is still out on KTM, Pierre was obviously a revelation. They no doubt have some disappointments in missing out on some kids, but hopefully a good year this year will open more doors.

Also I realize I don’t really know a whole lot about these kids other than what I read or watch in some highlight video set to music that couldn’t carry the jock of the golden age of hip hop.

When I look down through the ranked list of high school players and I look at who they have committed to, I see Kentucky, Duke, etc, etc, getting all the top kids. It's like being at an auction where a few people have a hundred times the money that you do. There's no way you can outbid them. You have to hope they haven't noticed something (like Pierre).

Two recruits visited this weekend. Better news here than in that other sport that shall remain nameless.

Larry's son. Are the Utes interested in him?

^ I don't know the particulars, but my understanding is that Cam Krystkowiak is either not considering Utah, or at the very least he's not a lock for Utah. Utah is recruiting at a pretty high level and they already have a few highly regarded frontcourt players committed in the 2018 and 2019 classes. Krystkowiak could certainly walk on at Utah, but he and his father might think it's better for him to go elsewhere. I can also imagine coaching your child at that level can have it's own unique set of challenges that might be best to avoid for both father & son.
