NOLA DUO GONE!!!!!
Re: NOLA DUO GONE!!!!!
FWIW,
I threw on the Houston/LSU game the other night. Deeky got some early minutes that I didn't see, but Brison got a lot of good minutes. He did a lot of good things on the floor that don't reflect on the score sheet. Glad he is doing well for himself.

Both Jarreau and Gresham had good games today as the Cougars stay undefeated.

FYI, this just popped up on Twitter:
DeJean Jarreau of @UHCougarMBK: the UMass transfer is averaging 10.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks over the last four games for the undefeated Cougars

Deeky has looked really good when I have seen him. Kinda hurts.

Say what you want about Kelvin Sampson (and there is a lot to say), but I'm pretty sure he emphasizes those two qualities himself down at Houston.

While he was here - "Deeky" played for the name on the back of the Jersey - not the front..... No thank you

Re: NOLA DUO GONE!!!!!
I agree with that.
The difference is they were added to an already developed culture where they are pieces(7th and 8th men) and not focal points. Even with that DJ was benched for a bit if I remember right. He didn’t have much chance of succeeding here with his immaturity where the culture was loose and he was being promoted as a star or star in the making.
There are a lot of things that make up a culture in a good program but the most important thing in my opinion is leadership from within the players. It’s been a long time since we had a great player, relatively speaking, who was a great leader.

Chaz was a solid leader, regardless of the crap people want to spew about his Sr. year.

Yes he was - but that was also part of the reason he made too many head scratching plays his entire career - he wasn't afraid to try and he had enough talent to make it work more often than not. He was not surrounded by enough basketball smarts (I am not talking about the coach either) to play off of him when he tried to force things. When "Chaz was being Chaz" - there was a lot of standing and watching.... rather than players moving off to be in position if/when Chaz's efforts did not work out.

I do not disagree with that. Your assessment is much different than what I was referring to.

I don't disagree either. I was simply answering what had been posted regarding a great player, relatively speaking
