Looking at the
meteoric success that foursome had at Umass - would that qualify as DK
not really learning anything if he rehires his same staff?

In Matt McCall I trust!

Everything I have seen agrees with IV. Say we owe him $750K and he gets $500K from LIU-B (or someone else), I believe that is how I have seen the math breakdown. I am sure it is much more complicated when you get into guaranteed money and all that jazz, but simply speaking, it is good for UMass financially if DK gets hired by another school for this upcoming season.

I assume they can't pay much? Quick check and it looks like they were under 900 fans for every home game last year

^ I would say there is a very very slim chance any players leave. Why would they want to go and play in front of 750 people in tiny gyms in an inferior conference. I think there was a better chance they would leave if he got an AC gig at a better program.

^ Agreed. Tough to find a path from there to anywhere on the planet that pays you to play.
But, I was surprised that Lewis just did that. I thought that was a very strange move.

Does anyone know the actual buyout/offset language? Is it dollar for dollar? It would be nice if LIU could pay DK at least $250,000 so we could recoup half the buyout.

Wonder which coaches will end up there as well. Hope it's not a road to oblivion for any of them.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

I wonder if he'll keep Jim Mack on from the previous coaching staff. Played at Westfield HS, went to Springfield College, coached and won a state title at Sabis.
Hire Matt McCall!

Lewis wasn't a surprise to end up at Iona, close to his hometown and a conference he knows. Plus Iona is a good team.
Kellogg is getting a 5Y deal, presser is at 11 and will be streamed.
I'd be surprised if any Umass players end up at LIU.

It's not the best situation there and their weight room is in a basement with not the best equipment. UMass has the Champions Center. Needless to say our guys are safe.

Congrats to DK. Even though I wanted him out, I think he will do a good job at that level. The two players I could see following him there are Baldwin and Flowers.

^Both Baldwin and Flowers are above that level of play. Why would they chose that?
