I'm really glad he got something close and may allow his family to stay in the area.

Just a reminder, he hasn't got the job yet. I hope he gets it and does well. As previously mentioned an offset to the buyout would be nice.

Maybe run the offense LIU and was it St. Francis ran maybe 15 yrs ago or more when it was schoolyard run and gun and scores like 142-137...

that would be fun...
He struck out so many times last year that putting him on the roster this year is rather baseless.

Good for him. He gets to stay in D-1 as a head coach and apply lessons learned from UMass. The buyout offset is also nice.

Doesn't look like a done deal... people at LIU may have looked at his record

If it happens, good for DK and good for LIU. He'll immediately upgrade their recruiting and if he has learned anything, that's a benefit for them in that conference. Even if he hasn't learned a thing, the upgrade on the recruiting side of things should help them in that conference. We shall see, but either way I hope for the best for DK!!

No, he was fired. He doesn't need to get permission from UMass. "Relieved of his duties" is just a fancy term. His contract was terminated and that initiated the buyout terms. Part of which (I didn't know this at first and some of our fellow UMass Twitter All-Stars helps me figure this out) means that if he gets hired elsewhere we don't have to pay quite as much as part of the buyout. It's a good thing for the U.

But he was fired. No need to think otherwise.

I hope he gets the job. Would be good for him, LIU, and UMass. I would try to check out a game next year when they play FDU.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

DK is a great guy and I hope he gets it but imagine if his resume was a finalist for the UMass job?? People would be going nuts here... that being said a change of scenery might be what he needs

I really hope he is able to show what he has learned being up here. UMass was the job he wanted. It was a bold move to take it as his first HC position. He was unable to show improvement year in and year out. I don't know if he was unable to teach or didn't know what to teach. It could alls have been somewhere in the middle. Hopefully he figures it out. He is a good guy.

I still don't understand why they fired their coach.. 3 straight years improving their record and coming off of a 20 win season
