Interesting. Just saw on the Twitters that 6'8" London, Ontario forward Kur Jockuch will be taking an unofficial visit to Amherst. Not sure when. He's also visiting Northern Colorado on an official visit, so who knows. Could he be this year's Carl Pierre? That would be pretty cool. Seems like these are the only 2 U.S. schools taking a look at him.

Looks like he could be a Carl Pierre type steal, 78. Late bloomer. Looks to be a guy who can fill a need, shotblocker/rebounder. Sounds like he a kid who likes the grind, plus he may still grow a bit. Could be a good pickup

In case you missed the video as I did, here it is. It's a highlight reel so take it for what it is, but Kur is new to BB so i agree that there is a lot of upside.

He's got good timing and he's pretty fluid for a kid who hasn't played that long. I like that he blocks shots without a lot of contact and his wingspan looks pretty big. Not bad shooting form either. Could be a great late pickup

I'm getting tired of saying this -- we lost another one.

I feel like you don't let Jock Itch go, you did something to make it go away.

We lost a recruit to Northern Colorado? Doesn't bode well?

We didn't lose Jokuch to Northern Colorado, just like we didn't lose Zdor to Weber State.

They aren't going to fill that scholarship just for the sake of filling it. They evaluate these guys and decide if they are A10 players, UMass players. In these two cases they decided against offering.

We'll see what comes of that spot down the line. Maybe they use it, maybe they don't.

I think people are missing the distinction between offering the player or not.

Not sure there's much left in the cupboard for recruits (hs or juco) or transfers (grad or sit out) -- would rather just hold it for 2019 unless the staff feels strongly about a kid. Wonder if Rayshawn stuck around they would have just given it to him for his last season or if his leaving was more of a playing time thing.

I'll take the optimistic view. Maybe the staff feels so comfortable with where they stand with 2019 recruits that they decided not to use the scholarship unless they found a player who they felt certain would contribute. Would make sense with all the new players they have to blend in this year.

I think that's exactly the approach. They aren't going to just use it to use it, especially if they think they can better utilize it next year.
