Should we tweet/ask players to stay
I am curious what other people's thoughts are on tweeting at the players or posting via facebook telling them we really like them and want them to stay is. We do it with recruits, it might be helpful for the fans to feel as though they are loved by the fans.
Thoughts on if this is okay?

Umassfan, listen to your heart and do what you gotta do. I personally think you should buy each freshman a nice diamond watch and if the users here disagree and think it's against NCAA violations, we'll start another poll whether or not all the watches should be sent over to me.. cool? Thanks man!

This might be the dumbest thing that's ever been posted on this board.
You think the players care what 5 fans think?

Players are recruited by a coach, and if that coach leaves whether voluntarily or involuntarily, they should have the right to transfer, just as recruits should be released from their LOIs. Let the players decide what's best for them, and respect that.

Give the players a cooling off period. But yes, they should know they have our support. Not that they may care what a bunch of chat room weirdo's think. Just kidding.

DO NOT TWEET PLAYERS NOW
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

I'm sure the players are aware of the board. If they pay attention to it, I'm sure they have noticed that this is a hotbed of Fire Dk activity. They probably don't want to hear from us right now (not that they ever hear from me anyway). Based on the Twitter feed it seems they really looked up to DK and they are very upset he was let go.
The posters above are right. Let them be.
When there is a new coach at the helm that's probably the time to try and get some positive talk going on social media.

Definitely not today. Too much emotion right now, we're seeing it in their tweets.umassfan.com wrote:Thoughts on if this is okay?

I was thinking of showing up to their dorm rooms with flowers and chocolate, but you're right, Tweeting or FB DM the is way to go
Re: Should we tweet/ask players to stay
The freshmen haven't even experienced a great spring weather week in SouthWest yet. That can be a game changer.

Re: Should we tweet/ask players to stay
Considering there's at least one person actively messaging players advocating them to leave, it might not hurt to be a bit public with reasons to stay.

Re: Should we tweet/ask players to stay
I'll call him out ... Skip Connors, a benchwarmer during the Ron Gerlufsen era, is tweeting players telling them to transfer. With this traitorous asshole throwing his alma mater under the bus, I am all for a Twitter offensive.
We should also tweet Bamford urging him to take Skip's name off the Sixth man of the Year award.
