I don't feel comfortable whenever we play the Bonnies. Hopefully Dk can control the 3 point attempts and work the ball inside to Holloway. I like that style of play.

For a team that just lost to Canisius and were only 1.5 favorites, that screams trap game. Uh oh..

Bonnies always match up well against us. Or more like Schmidt out coaching DK - Schmidt is the most underrated coach in the A10 for sure, hell of a coach.

good reason to be, we've lost 8 of the last 12 times against them, including the last two.

Roads are fine, just got home (midnight) and the roads were fine, drove straight through Amherst and the roads were wet, some icy spots just but not much snow. Tomorrow won't be a problem driving.

id bet the over today. bonas will speed things up. very concerned of how we value the ball. cannot repeat cannot turn the ball over 20 times and win. As always the win will be defined by our ability to make free throws. Im hoping DK has these guys focused on the inside game to start. Chucking 3s out of the gate will be a disaster. Hollaway had a monster game last year at Bonas. They have no answer for him. just hoping we can hit those baskets around the hoop. This will open up better looks at 3. I never see these guys go inside out for those looks.
to me thats coaching!! Hoping we can lock down those guards a little. i think one of them is going to go for over 30 today

Don't think our worries is for Bona to speed it up.. we play faster than any other team in the A-10. But I think we need to push the envelope with getting the ball inside. Holloway can absolutely dominate this team. I predict 20/10 and a double double for him today if he can stay out of foul trouble.

I'm really excited about going to the game tonight. The campus is deserted, but I hope there will be a decent crowd. If I were an opposing coach, I would try to get Holloway in foul trouble because I think that is the Achilles heal of UMass basketball. Gresham is coming along, but after him we have problems, particularly on defense.

Looking forward to getting out there today. Hoping to get in early to enjoy a drink first, but likely going to make it just in time for tip-off. Roads were fine along the 495 belt this morning coming into work so I'd envision a smooth ride today headed to Amherst.

They really need to bring their best today and make a statement to start off conference play. I want them to put the conference on notice. We'll see what they can do.

I'm really anxious to see what happens with Holloway in this game. I think the only two guys on SBU that have a chance to defend Holloway are Obokoh & Ikpeze, but I believe Obokoh is injured and Ikpeze and a raw freshman. On the flip size, if SBU goes small and Holloway has to try and defend Andoh or Gregg he's going to have a lot of trouble as Andoh can make 3's and Gregg is very mobile and athletic.

I think UMass has to force feed the ball inside to Holloway when he's in the game.

hopefully the post passing will be better than ive seen. agreed 100% on this though. long rebounds are a factor as well with the amount of 3s that i fear will thrown up in this contest.

It's noticeably better than it's been in any previous year that I can remember.

^ That's great to hear. The roads are no problem and the weather is pretty decent so I'm hoping for 5,000+ today. That might actually give us a home court advantage.

I assume they will drop a guard down to help double Rashaan as he is too big for Gregg to defend on his own. I hope we can find a way to lob it over the top but then he has to go right up with it. The outcome might be decided by who gets whom in foul trouble (Holloway/Gregg). He's their only inside threat although their guards do a good job of penetrating. This has to be our best defensive effort of the year.
