Pipkins passed Derek Kellogg in career 3's. He's in 12th place.

A quick question during the lull - I noticed that all the good UMass rebounding teams played prior to 1970. In fact, the top ten rebounding teams played between 1955 and 1970. None since then. Were those teams substantially better at rebounding? Were rebounding stats kept differently back then? Any thoughts? Happy holidays.

^ Here's my thought: Pre-1970 or so, there were not any divisions and travel was tough, so teams played those around them. Think of UMass getting rebounds against Coast Guard or Stonehill. Then when the Divisons (I-II-III-NAIA) were set up, the stats changed.

Duh. I didn't think of the level of competition. That's probably it. Thanks.

^^Another factor is shooting percentage. I haven't looked it up but my guess is that FG shooting percentage are higher post-1970 than pre-1970. Dunking became legal in 1976-77.
Fewer missed shots means there are fewer rebounds to be had.

Seven of the top ten scoring teams played between 1963-77 which overlaps the high rebounding years (1963-64 was both the highest point and rebound averages). Don't know if there is a relationship. I don't know what the shooting percentage is for those years, however.

Camby was the 10th highest scorer when he left. Now he's 15th highest. Pipkins just passed him. Who are the other four who have passed Camby?

You got two of them: Mack #2 and Harris #3. The other two are currently in 5th and 7th place.
Oops! I didn't see Chaz on your list. He is in 7th place, so there's one more. He played center.
