Thanks! That's a beautiful thing. The pass was absolutely perfect.
Re: KAEO Unique McLean (2016)
I hope Unique is watching Loyola-Chicago vs Nevada. They are putting on a clinic on how to finish at the rim.

We are entering the "When a KAEO thread of a current player gets bumped the collective Umass fan holds their breath" stage of the offseason.

Sorry about that. I'll buy you a drink.

Rumors out there that Unique is putting up 1K jumpers/day.
Re: KAEO Unique McLean (2016)
I'm sure he is working hard to secure his place on the team. Hope that someone is working with him on form, reps don't matter unless you are doing it right.
Re: KAEO Unique McLean (2016)
He's an interesting (unique ) case. If he could improve his shooting % numbers (overall, 3 and FT) to 42, 33 and 70 he would be a dynamic player. I like his defense and rebounding and we all know about his athleticism. As roadtrip said, he needs to be coached to get his form better.
Re: KAEO Unique McLean (2016)
The most frustrating thing for me is that he doesn't know how to finish around the hoop (other than dunk). It looks like he never practiced lay-ups with both hands, reverse lay-ups, etc. Which is what happens I guess when you can throw it down against the high school competition.

That game at Fordham where he took 24 shots is one of the more bizarre stats from last year. He must've had maybe 3-4 other games where he took double digits in shots, the rest we were single digits. That game, though, 24 shots.

EXACTLY - this is exactly why I hate getting overly excited about HS highlight reels. Inferior competition can make otherwise average talent look far superior.uz2b-len wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 11:33 am The most frustrating thing for me is that he doesn't know how to finish around the hoop (other than dunk). No question Unique has some great athleticism, and in HS that can take you a really long way, but once the playing field is leveled and all the competition is just as athletic, the fundamentals start mattering much more. Why would you practice standard simple layups and around the basket finishing work when you can just jump over everyone and hear the crowd yell "Oh Shit" every time you posterize some kid - that is no fun, no fun at all!

Re: KAEO Unique McLean (2016)
Pipkins really improved his second year. His outside shot was so much better. How did that happen? Why was he so much better his second year? If it was a coach who helped him improve his shot, maybe the same coach could help Unique? I like Unique's his size, strength, athleticism, defense; but he needs to finish better (in the paint) and improve his outside shot. If he can score better, Unique will get plenty of minutes.

He was playing in front of his homies.
