Game 4, 2014-15: vs Notre Dame at Mohegan Sun

Obviously a huge early season test for the Minutemen. Barring anything crazy, the Irish will also be 3-0 coming into this one.

We really luck out in the sense that they have a home football game that afternoon...most fans who travel for sports will probably find themselves there, and not at Mohegan. I think FSU is the tougher matchup for us, so I'm really hoping we can take this one.

Thank god we have a few days to rest the legs and practice to clean stuff up. Both games will be tough. Going 1-1 for the weekend will be a win.

After the way we played today, 1-1 would be excellent.

I think we will all be happy with 1-1 this weekend. They are both much more "home games" for us then they are for either ND or FSU so that will help. 4 days off will help for ND as well. FSU will be just as tired on Sunday as we are so that wont be an advantage/disadvantage.

I'd be extremely happy with 1 out of 2 this weekend. I wouldn't be that disappointed if we lost both but were in both games. If we win both I'm going straight to the tables and putting it all on black! Speaking of black, today's jerseys where the first uniforms (football and hoop) in the last few years which I did not care for.

Also, I think ND is a much better team than FSU. Im more worried about game 1, especially b/c we have a lot of bench depth (we do?)

I agree, I think ND is better than FSU.

I think FSU is pretty simple...if we can make some threes and loosen it up, we'll beat them. If we struggle shooting, it will be an ugly day and most likely a loss.

The Irish are 2-0 now, having beaten up on Binghamton (82-39) and Navy (92-53) so far. Binghamton only shot 27% to ND's 55%. Navy upped their number to 32%, but ND also upped theirs to 56%.

Irish host Coppin State tonight at 7, on Watch ESPN if you want to stream it.

So I take it they're a good defensive team.
A little to our advantage that we've played one more game than them, and we have played some better comp so far.

I watched some of the ND vs Navy game and my take was:

Navy had zero press they let ND set plays and totally control tempo.

Navy had no one to match up with Auguste down low and still did not double team/ we do as long as Cady can stay out of early foul trouble.

ND simply clogged the paint on D and Navy had no good slashers or post players, jumpers and 3's just were not falling.

I have no clue how Navy hung with Mich. State so this analysis may be worthless

we definitely have the players to match up with them especially if someone can start hitting from 15' and out to open up the middle

If 1-1 is excellent for some on here, what are we going to think if they go 2-0? Fsu and nd were both in the 7-10 range in all of the ACC preseason polls, they will both likely be in the bubble conversations as the year plays out. These are 2 winable games and could put us right back where we were last year in the national discussion. We are 3-0 while not putting together a full game of basketball. I'm hoping they will play up to the competition and play better 1st halves.

Grant is a 1st team ACC preseason pick, they need to slow him down.
