Def lose a consistent presence down low. Malik was a solid big going into his senior year, will be interesting who they fill the spot with.

hope the poll in the thread to guess the number of transfers, where most people said 1, is right. Most of the speculation about who might leave seemed centered on front court guys. perhaps this makes it more likely they stay.

Malik was the one player from last years squad that I expected to transfer.

Hopefully this means that Burton or Braswell come to UMass.

Best of luck to Hines! Best case scenario he goes to Ole Miss.

I seem to recall someone posted here that McCall knew Hines would likely transfer in 2018 and Hines told McCallt that when he was hired..or I imagined I read that...or the person who posted it took a wild guess and ended up being correct. Either way it's not a huge surprise but it is disappointing. He would have got a lot of playing time next season. I wonder if LIU is a possibility.

No LIU in my opinion he will go deep south. No Braswell because the big boys are after him. I'm hoping we get Sy Chatman.

No reason for him to do that.

Didn't expect him to be the big to leave. But, if the others, Baldwin and Holloway stay it makes sense. At the beginning of last season Malik was the odd man out, but out of necessity he had to play. He grew and became a solid A10 big. If Holloway and Baldwin come back, KTM grows, enter Diallo, Hines is again the odd man out. If his growth is any indication of how much the coaching can help our bigs, Baldwin and Holloway may be staying and tuned in to get better.

Happy for Malik if he wants to be closer to home. He will have his degree and became a pretty good basketball player.

He would have left last year if he wanted to go to LIU.

Everything I have heard is that he wants to be closer to home, but it's second and third hand info. It does make sense however. I wish him well. He showed tremendous improvement last year.

Realistically, I think he goes to a school like South Alabama.
