Not happening! I said it before and will say it again, DK may leave but BC is not the place.

I don't think DK would go to BC either but could he be interviewing with them to get a raise from UMass?

Or he could be interviewing with them so BC can say they did their due diligence when they already have their guy in mind. Kinda like the way we handled the Whipple hire.

It makes sense that BC would at least reach out and kick the tires. DK did get us to the NCAAs. At UMass we've made the NCAAs in 1962, 1992-1998 and now in 2014. So, obviously it's a pretty big accomplishment for UMass and DK is a strong coach with New England ties. With the opening I would have been more suprised if BC did NOT reach out. no need to panic, but i think it's fair that DK is guaging his market. That said, I think if UMass steps up with a bump in money or more program improvements DK will be at UMass for the long haul.

DK has not recruited New England (here we go again), so what is the significance of "New England ties".

He has New England ties because he grew up here, lives here, coaches here now. He's had success coaching and recruiting to New England. All things in New England, hense New England ties.

None of his "success" had anything to do with New England players....."ties" usually signifies that it has some connection. Has "New England ties" ever had any significance or importance to the selection of a BC head BB coach?

The last UM grad to coach at BC BB had a record of 247–165 (.600) at BC and he got FIRED!!! Yeah, they could sell DK to the BC alums!

DK is a great guy who appears to be universally liked by the local and national media and he has demonstrated an ability to be a good recruiter, but he is far from a "strong coach"

Do I like DK as our coach? Yes. Would I be happy with him being our coach for the next 20 years, sure. But I am also ok with being a top 30 team that makes the NCAAs 2 out of 3 years or even 1 out of 3 years with NITs in the off years.

With that said, he is not an above average game planner and he is not an ACC coach. BC ran off Donahue who is a very good X and O's guy but could not get talent.

In the ACC you must be able to game plan and strategize for multiple different attacks. Think of the coaches you are going against: Roy Williams, Coach K, Ricky P, Jimmy B etc. DK is not at that level and quite frankly I wonder if he will ever be. And that is ok, but not at BC.

I guess we have a difference of opinion of the definition of New England ties....I also guess we better hope that the Texas job (or Houston, SMU, etc.) doesn't open or DK will be a strong candidate due to his Texas ties. We do have Trey Davis, Clyde Santee and Zach Coleman. All are from Texas and he recruited them to New England.
