Pipkins lead all players in scoring today coming off the bench and Providence had a nice upset at #16 Butler.
PC was 11-10 entering yesterday’s ballgame, squarely a mediocre major D1 ballclub. Cooley gets his team prepared to play ON THE ROAD at #16 Butler in a packed Hinkle Fieldhouse. PC plays tough D all game and pulls out a hard fought 65-61 win.....a great road W.
UMass goes ON THE ROAD against a 10-10 Davidson, squarely a mediocre mid-major ball club. We come out with all the defensive fire of a wet noodle, watch Davidson shoot nearly 75% and get embarrassed by 35.
And BC beat UNC at Chapel Hill

Pipkins had a nice line tonight in a win over #19 Marquette - 24,4,3 with 4 steals.

Pipkins has really turned it around in the 2nd half of the season. Providence up 10 at Nova and Pipkins is currently the best player on the court today.

Pipkins is going to have a long, successful basketball career. He’s going to be one of those guys in his 50s, playin at a local gym and still draining 3’s all day. Doesn’t have many fans here anymore but I wish him the best..

Just watched Pipkins pour in 27 against #12 Villanova.

He looked vintage today. Providence goes as LP does

It will be funny when he says the fans, coach, and school all suck on his way out the door.

Looks to me like his last 3 games have been good, with a smattering of solid games but way more clunkers.

I watched a little of that game yesterday and he was pretty good, pretty much the reason they won a road game at #12 Villanova. They now have a now string of beating ranked teams and are making a push to get into the tournament.

Regardless of how he left, whether it was his decision or McCall's, I wonder what people think this year's team would look like if he had stayed. Would we see Tre develop the way he has? Would Carl be a little more effective with less pressure on himself to score? What do East and K Mitchell look like with Pip getting the majority of the minutes? And does this team come together and put together big wins to end the season like they have, or self destruct and fall apart like we're used to?

The way it went was good for both parties. Pip got what he wanted and UMass got to reset with a new group. Its all good

I was surprised to see him at the Bill for the VCU game tho after he expressed his thoughts on McCall and UMass when he left. Never thought he would come back

If Pip had stayed it's likely Kolton or Sean wouldn't have been on the team this year.

Agreed. He's in a good spot and we are moving on with a really promising young group. I didn't know he came to the VCU game, that's pretty cool. Maybe there's some fence mending going on there. As much as I hated what he said about UMass, I found myself rooting for him as I watched yesterday's Friars game.

Good for him... hopefully he finishes the year strong for them.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

I know he was at the VCU game... Is there any proof he was cheering for UMass to win the game? I don't think he's really close with any of the guys left on the team, including Carl.

Showing up is enough proof.
