I'll always wish former players well in life. But as far as giving a shit whether Pipkins succeeds as a player goes, that ship has sunk...Pipkins torpedoed it.

That radio interview he gave after he left pissed me off. Not sure what you get out of airing dirty laundry like that. I was always good in his corner even when he didn’t play and/or shoot well, but that pissed me off. Whatever I guess.

It will be interesting to see if he can play a big role on a winning team and how much his shot selection changes when he’s got better players around him. PC should be pretty good I think.

This pretty much summed it up.... I think it will be interesting how he does there as well, but I also won't really know as I will not be following it.

Back in the old days, some would have claimed (rightfully so) that the kid was basically point shaving - based on the way he quit on them or torpedo'ed that season with he very selfish play.

^ No match for the fantastic BC trio of Rick Kuhn, Jim Sweeney and Ernie Cobb back in the late 70s. :D

True that!!!! Wasn't there a 4th guy too, kind of in the shadows of it? I know those three took the hit, but I thought there was one more ?

I know that I'll take heat for this but I'm not hating on Pipkins. First of all, he stuck it out and gave it his all in a year that was very challenging (ie McCall's first year). Second year sounds like a complete sshow on the coaching staff which has to be incredibly distracting and awful to walk into every day...which was clearly the case given the firings/hirings. I know that this is the case when it happens at work and there is plenty of bitching and moaning.

If I'm a 21 year old kid who walked into that mess every day, I'm pretty sure that I'd be equally pissed that a year of my time to shine at college was lost with a complete cluster. This time will be different, hopefully, as I really like this staff including the adviser on staff.

We have to remember that these are just kids. I made some really dumb choices at that age (as I'm sure a lot of us did) but didn't have a microscope on me.

My boss has a saying he likes to use frequently.... Either you're part of the problem or you're part of the solution. There is no doubt which side of that equation Pipkins was on. Thanks for 2017, good riddance for 2018 and beyond.

Providence beat a horrid Stonehill team 106-60. LP started and played 26 minutes. He had a nice (very nice game). 13 points, 3 steals, 7 assists/0 turnovers and 3/7 from 3. When motivated, he's a hell of a player.

Nicely done, Pip! Good for him and I hope he continues to do well for them this year, unless we should cross paths in the post season, as unlikely as that may be.

Your expectations for us are a bit too high.

haha, fair point! I'd be ecstatic if they got into the NIT or, obviously, better than that. I certainly liked what I saw on Tuesday... if this group can stay together, we're in for some very good years ahead I think.

I think our top end, everything goes right season could make the NIT, but definitely not an expectation.

IV always the pessimist. I didn't see your 30-0 prediction in the 2019-20 prediction thread
