Re: A10 Transfers 2021
Tyler Kolek transferring from GMU, which could be looking at "the coach is gone, we're gone too" exodus. Other A-10 news tonight: Richmond, who finished 8th in the A-10 and was playing without its 2 best players (Golden and Blake Francis out with injuries), beat Toledo, the MAC regular sea...

Re: Who would you hire as HC for 2021-22
ESPN today ranked the 68 coaches in this year's NCAAs according by how they did as players (link below). Several successful coaches have resumes like MM's; e.g., Will Wade (LSU, after success at VCU), Scott Drew (Baylor), Chris Beard (Texas Tech); were managers at college teams, and those first 2 di...

Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Hard to remember a tournament with zero UMass opponents in. I suppose St. Louis still has an outside chance, but the lack of non-conference games and not playing Bona or VCU made this oddity.

Re: A10 Transfers 2021
GW approaching the level of UMass's transfers out of recent years.
Duquesne also lost a couple, notably Sincere Carry.
This crazy covid season will be surely be followed by a hyperactive off-season. Just hope it's not for UMass; adding 1-2 good ones, losing none (or at least none impactful)

Re: 2020-21 Season
Just a thought. For the first time in a few years I felt like the new guys were a significant improvement over the guys who left. So I looked up the stats of the guys who left and their replacements. I'll let the numbers speak for themselves. East - 9.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.7 turnov...

Re: 2021-2022 Season
would be great to find a rebounding big, and right now that seems necessary to reach the next level. If we don't get someone who fits that role, thinking about how when Dibaji entered the starting lineup (while he was reasonably healthy), the team went 4-1. Without him starting/quite available, 4-6....

Re: Game 15, 2020-21: St. Louis (A10 Rd3)
interesting note from the announcers that Collins and Fernandes were next to each other in the ratings before entering college. I thought that was the 1 position besides Tre where we'd have an advantage, but Collins had one of his best games ever and Fernandes one of his worst. UMass had no answers ...

Re: 2020-21 Atlantic 10 season
longer list of potential coaches for Fordham (on ESPN+ I think) also had Tony Barbee, although he was not high on the list.

Re: Game 15, 2020-21: St. Louis (A10 Rd3)
Ronnie went from 0 vs SLU last Monday to be the leading scorer today. Need those early 3s by guys like him. Keep the ball moving and keep up defensive intensity

Re: Game 14, 2020-21: Saint Joseph's (A10 Rd2 3/4)
Just catching up on what's being said, and like many posters I was hoping the first half wasn't a total fluke and this wouldn't be one of those games where the lead gets squandered. Carl took care of that. 3 3s in the first minute of the second half, and that was it. Dibaji played! No wrap on his wr...

Re: Game 14, 2020-21: SJU/LAS (A10 Rd2 3/4)
SJU and LAS both looking pretty good in their first half. lots of different guys hitting 3s. announcers saying they're both finally healthy. I'd feel a lot better about tomorrow if Dibaji was playing

Re: KAEO: Preston Santos
I can't express my best wishes for Preston as well as others have here, but want to add my voice to the chorus supporting him for his courage and what sounds like good decisions to help work things out so far. Lots of people rooting for this fine young man; hope he can know that and hope it helps.

Re: 2020-21 Atlantic 10 season
^ "What have you done for me lately" mentality. We've owned LaSalle this year. Sure St. Joe's is playing much better but they are still 4-14. 4-14 but in St. Joe's last 3 games, since Ryan Daly's return, they beat Richmond, Dayton and La Salle. Only the Richmond game was close. Our last 2...

Re: Game 13, 2020-21: at Saint Louis (3/1)
how much is it that they're freshman? how much covid pauses (which everyone says is way worse for underclassmen)? how much is Coach McCall lack of ...? We should find out a lot more in 3 days, when we'll likely see a red hot St. Joe's team. UMass gets the extra day to prepare and needs that win to h...
