Lappas has outcoached and outrecruited Baron this year. UMass has better young players than anybody in the A10 that I have seen. URI is facing NCAA sanctions. The future at UMass is much brighter and it ain't close. VoxPop, you have become hysterical -- in more ways than one. You are either related...

a poster posted this in this thread: "Coach Lappas is the current coach and Umass is lucky to have him." I laughed so hard when I read this that I really looked like this:           Then I read it again and I looked like this:  :shoc...

Twisters UMass has had one of the top ranked recruiting classes in the A10 since Lappas arrived. That is how we have acquired all the young talented players we are watching emerge game to game. We start 1 3d yr, 3 1st yr players and a 2d yr. VoxPop. Not a dig, but just curious if you have a link or...

Violations aside, As long as Baron is the coach at URI and Lappas at UMass, I will take my chances with Baron.

This is good news. Hopefully the new AD can jump right in and right the ship. Glad to see the school moving quickly to get this done.

I am very nervous that this string of wins against mediocre teams will salvage at least one more year for Lappas and will mean that next year at this time this board will have the same exact tone and we will be hearing about young players, players who transferred, etc. etc. etc. I am extremely happy...

3,800 - 4,000 but only if the students show up. If not, 3,300.

MoMax with a 4-1 assist to TO rate tonight is nice. He should be the starting point guard for the rest of the year with AA getting most of the time at the 2. Ray-Ray continues to be great. Nice to see Lasme get into double digits. Nice win, but now comes a little Iron in the next two games. The kids...

MassGrad, you really can't be serious. You are comparing an alleged incident early in Dean Smith's career to what is happening now to Lappas who is close to the tail end of his career? I don't see the analogy at all.

MullinsManiac -- a win against Rider and good efforts against X and Dayton will not get me off the fire Lappas bandwagon. The guy should be gone. But I have beat the dead horse enough. Just wanted to make it clear. Who would have thunk it? Imagine even 4 or 5 years ago that the fan base would be get...

BTW, is anyone else on this board put off by political endorsements in the signatures? I come here to get flamed and berated for my basketball opinions, and forget about political games. Interesting what some people will find to bitch about, even after a W, but far be it for me to offend your tende...

Lappas outcoached Barron today. He did an excellent job out of TOs and also of keeping players fresh. The adjustments were superb. The team is getting better and will continue to get better. They are young but they are getting better and they are a far better team than they were earlier in the seas...

long time/first time -- your use of the Fellowship of the miserbable line is not even funny, plus you stole it from Rick Pitino. Try to come up with something on your own next time.

As for rookie of the week -- Bowers.

One question that I think has to be asked is can this team keep winning with the bench only playing 14 minutes total? The starters looked great, but at some point they will wilt. That is going to be the true test.

Big tip of the hat to The team and yes even the coach. Two weeks ago I thought this game was unwinnable. And once Lee went down I knew it was unwinnable. First quality win of the year -- way to go team.
