I believe he is friends with Unique from their NY AAU team as well.

To many of us forget what its like to be 18 and most of us (me) have never been a D1 athlete. I don't think a few weeks off in the "offseason" is a death sentence. It may put him behind in team bonding on the court, but I don't think conditioning (for him) is a big deal.

At this time there is no confirmation that he simply ran in to Rashaan during practice.
