87 All I am saying is that any college athlete is a student-athlete by definition. So by right he should be a student first, and an athlete second. We both now that is not the case at the major level. I agree that it is difficult to dedicate equal amounts of time to school and sports and play at the...

I agree OBG. I hope with the influx of new young blood they can work together to get better. This roster to me has a lot more talent and depth than recent years. Let's hope Lap can get them to hustle, learn, and play with some pride. We need a productive year in the worst way. Go Umass!

Fella's I agree 100%,

This kid has proven one thing, he makes awful decisions. It also pisses me off that a kid who is a student second to everything else in his life has a full scholarship to college. Cal needs to start recruiting some players with better morals. Go Umass!

Swampy, Record-wise the teams may not have been that bad. However, going to campus the year after a great run and see the team steadily get worse year after year I think it was pretty bad. Granted a lot of you guys were around a lot earlier than myself and probably watched worse stretches of Umass b...

Philosopher, "the intent in starting this thread was not to overhype, and you haven't made any such accusation." If the intent of the thread was not to overhype a player and I did not make any such accusation. Than what is the problem? I thought since the thread is labled Rashoun Freeman a...

This kid sounds like a beast. We needed a kid who will go out and hustle and bang with the big boys. From what I have read Briggs is a tenacious player as well, and Bowers is an athletic scorer. I am very optimistic for this up coming season, and I think everyone should be as well. Yes, placing high...

Troy Bell was a second round pick on every mock draft I saw. Yes, he can shoot, but he is not what the celtics need. We needed to up the tempo and start getting some easy fast break points and this is the kid to do that. I am 100% confident that Banks will have a much longer and more productive care...

I don't think Coach Lappas needs any advice about recruiting. Seems to me he has done a very good job throughout his career.

This looks increasingly less likely to happen. Rumor has it the Virginia Gov. is asking Virginia to neg. the vote because the ACC did not ask Vtech. N.C, and Duke have already said they are voting against it as well. All the ACC needs is three negative votes to kill the deal. The way things look thi...

The fact that Holy Cross get's so much enjoyment out of beating us show's how pathetic they are. If we are so awful, how does beating us make you so great? After you get negged entry into far superior conferences and your coach splits to greener pasteurs, you will be awful again. The only difference...

I agree a 100% Kosty. The reason BU and Holy Cross are mentioned as the first to start the negotion process is because they have to. Do you think the Big East would be banging on Holy C's and Bu's doors to join. I doubt it. Yes, their b-ball teams have been very good of late, but once the present co...

Is it my bad memory or did the big east expand a few years back with VTech and try to do it again a couple years ago. It's alright for the Big East to expand but when they get schools pulled from them its devastating, and sending the wrong message to student athletes. This is becoming a debacle.
