Re: State of the Progam

^ Nearly three consecutive long winded self righteous off-topic inane anti-football rants from our resident debbie downer: econalum... this may be a new record !!!  speaking of sunk costs and being lost...we beat Akron and get yet another complete shitshow from econalum..... Easy Jack ...

Re: State of the Progam

We're never going to scrap football. We have games scheduled out 10 years from now. Bottom line, it helps UMass be a national brand and we're up to 64th in the USNWR. It's just sad that its 8 years in now and we still suck. Really thought the second half of 2017 was special. We could schedule games...

Re: GAME 5 9/28 AKRON

It was finally fun to be at a FB game. A couple of items worth mentioning. 2. Credit to Ally and the O line for closing out the game. When is the last time we had a 1 score lead, got the ball at the 25 and ran out the last 5 1/2 minutes to end the game? We had 3 subs on the O line and rushed for ov...

I know stevemaz personally, and have since we were both at UMass. I might not dispute that he's crazy :D but he is not someone else. FWIW.
Fair enough... carry on with your crazy prognostications.

Does going on this witch hunt mean you'll be posting less here? That would be splendid.

Re: State of the Progam

Maz you are reminding me of a old poster - I think early Kellogg years who was ridiculously over the top in their predictions / enthusiasm / and bragging. I am not even sure if it was from this site, but you are definitely like that person.... He claimed David Gibbs was the next coming of Dr J... an...

Sports Psychic: "The Fall of 2019 is the Winter of 1989 repeating itself"

No - no it is not.

The two situations are not even comparable except that it is the same school / same address. And Walt has nowhere even close to the same charisma and bravado that Calapari had either.

Re: State of the Progam

Get solid coaches with track records. That is much easier said than done. I am not sure Umass would be considered toxic, but it is definitely a project of epic proportions. What established coach (a solid track record) is going to want to come here unless we throw a jack-load of money at them. They...

Re: GAME 5 9/28 AKRON

^^^^ There's good chance that there will be more people on the field than in the stands. :? :( I will take that bet - as in I think there will be more people on the field! I remember watching Umass play (Akron I think) on a Thursday night TV game. It was raining and there could not have been more t...

Re: Pitino to UMass

Because UConn is known to have run such a clean program? No not at all.... most all of these programs have marks on their record from one incident to another. RP's are just some of the most egregious and he is just such an arrogant, smarmy prick - him coming here would be for him to use us f...

Re: State of the Progam

Steve I am still all in on Umass Football FYI. I am just trying to be as realistic about the whole thing as possible. The A-10 is still a good conference, I am not ready to say that going all sports in the MAC (or CUSA) is better for the long run or not, but if the powers that be make that decision ...

Re: Pitino to UMass

If they ever hired Pitino I would resign and go root for UConn. I would never root for Umass in any capacity ever again in any sport.

Rick Pitino is the poster child for EVERYTHING that I despise about college athletics.

Re: State of the Progam

Understand your point but will say the following. Boston College has been very successful in the past, Doug Flute and the Orange Bowl and in the past few years. Don't think we should do a whole sale shove under the bus for a CHANCE to be respectable 3 years out of every 10 years. I do not care if i...
