Cal accomplished something here...considering that a Final Four has been the absolute zenith for this program, I would say he finished what he started. He took a dormant program and established a tradition of excellence and stayed for EIGHT years. Ford did not even make it through one recruiting cl...

I asked this question in another thread during the Providence/LSU saga and it is worth asking again here. How do those individuals who are ripping Ford from one end of this board to the other, feel about the way Cal left? Not suggesting that Ford doesn't deserve any criticism, because he certainly d...

Have you seen a PC game at the Dunk in the last 10 yrs? Even when Gillen was there(which arguably is when they had their most success post-Pitino), the place was only half full. Read "Fall River Dreams" by Bill Reynolds if you want to know about how difficult it will be to recruit at PC. The book ma...

Of the people that are roasting Ford for considering Providence, I'd be curious to know how many of them also roasted Calipari for what he did back in 96. Cal essentially told Bob Ryan of the Globe(and it is documented) that he was staying. He then left the next day - albeit for an NBA job. Maybe I'...

You could have ended the above after you wrote "If Travis Ford accepts the PC job....". IMHO, this would be a monumentally stupid move on his part.

There's a reason why this job has been turned down by everyone who's interviewed there - including Larranga, a PC alum.

You don't remember Jeff Meyer then :)
Sorry Jeff, nothing personal.
Neither of you were around for the Wilbert Hicks era.

The absolute funniest thing that I can recall during this period was Cape Cod Bruiser's endless pimping of Matt Doherty for the job - until he found out that Doherty was a Clinton supporter.

:P :P :P

I am not nearly as high on DK as some around here. Knowing the Amherst area means nothing when you're coaching at UMass. Being a UMass alum when/if you're coaching at UMass also means very little, IMO. Can/could the guy recruit to UMass and can he coach? Those are the two questions that I want answ...

Yesterdays game once again proved that the socalled BCS schools like Duke when playing away from home are not superior to other D-1 programs. Has anyone looked at UNC non conference schedule this year? They should also be required by the NCAA to go on the road and play top teams from other conferen...

I love it. I was at a bunch of games this year and will likely be at the SFA game too. Call me whatever you like but I'm a better fan than lots of people here. And, I notice you refuse to answer the previous question. Well good for you. You've attended a bunch of games this year, I am so proud. But...

I disagree. With the year they A-10 had they deserved at least 4. The Big East getting 8 teams is a joke. Don't look at the leagues. Look at the teams. Umass was the next best team from the A-10 that deserved to go. Nova was the last team that made it from the Big East. Umass did not have a better ...

It's Mike's board and he can run it as he sees fit. So if he wants to lock a thread started by a nitwit troll in his mother's basement with a WEEI tanktop on, that is his prerogative. Those that dont like at are free to start their own board. I don't get your rant here PintOGuinness. Mike already s...
