Re: New Big East Earthquake

The way this is worded here, and in the article it was taken from, it looks like UMass wont be added if Xavier, for example, is added, and vice versa. Am I misreading this?

:?:
I wonder if the coach will give Lasme the option of returning to the team. It would be an intriguing situation to have him coming back along with all the guards we have coming in next yr, though it's hard to say whether or not it be good for the team.

The fact that BC is still in the BE probably hurts our chances. It's not like we'd bring a new market to the big east now.

Oh well. I sent anyway...couldn't hurt. I have written to my Rep and Senator several times this yr. Hopefully the message will eventually get through.

Re: Budget Debate Begins This Week

For all of you who have asked on here about contacting someone about the University's budget, the debate begins later this week, and here are the folks that you should direct your cards, letters and emails, too, in hopes of reversing the trend for the entire University, not just Athletics. Thank yo...

I think that line up is actually a possibility. Lee is an inside player, but I know Freeman can play on the perimeter (when Lappas signed him, he said he could play the 3 or the 4), and I think Briggs can play the 3 as well. Regardless, I'm sure it is pure speculation on Lappas's part at this point....

Freeman is somewhat untested, so I won't make projections for him. On Briggs, I heard from a good source that he was our best big man last yr in practices, so I'm projecting him as a starter. The other spot will go to who is better between Freeman and Lee.

I'd love to see UMass end up in a stronger conference. I think some are overly pessimistic about the prospects of conference realignments because of last yr's mediocre season, but there's no need to project last yr's season on all of the program's upside and history, not to mention our other great a...

Maybe, but I've also seen several other articles that have also mentioned us (though not as in depth as Wetzel's article) as a possible candidate for a new big east. I also read an article about the possibility of the A-10 standing firm and actually expanding by taking in a couple of the deserted bi...

 Miagi, please, speaking strictly for myself, I'd rather not see the board cluttered with this crap from masslive. I don't see anybody defending ItsWhatsBest or whatever else he wants to be called. He's a nuisance and nothing more. I don't understand what you're trying to prove by posting that...

correct me if I'm wrong but he doesn't come across as the blue-chip impact player that UMass needs to change the direction of the program, more like a solid role player who can make a limited contribution. :?: Just curious, how did you come to that conclusion? You could be right, but I haven't foun...

What's with the doom and gloom? This kid sounds like he could be a solid contributer to our team, and according to Mike Sullivan, Maxwell signed today as well. As far as the talent goes, I think it will definitely be an upgrade from this year to next yr. Bowers, Maxwell, Briggs, Freeman, Chadwick to...

"The Minutemen still hope to get signed letters from Chicago forward Mike Rudoy and Philadelphia combo guard Maurice Maxwell."

Does this mean that Rudoy hasn't committed to Princeton as originally reported?

Hmmm.....A totally unsubstantiated rumor that has clearly damaged recruiting...am I correct in thinking that there could be a lawsuit here?
