I was under the impression that we are looking for another big man with our last scholarship?

I haven't seen Lasme play, but I've seen him around campus, and he's bigger than his listed size might indicate. He's about Gabe's height, and he has long arms and a strong looking frame. Hopefully he'll be able to give us a lot of help with our rebounding. I also ran into one of the other rookies a...

Wow. Sounds like a great get. I like the fact that he is considered a real post player. There aren't many of those left in college basketball.

You asserted in your first post that the team doesnt have talent. I questioned how you could come to that conclusion...I didnt say anything about whether or not the team would be successful relying on rookies etc.. From your post, it seems you think I'm saying we are destined for success, that the r...

:?: Experience for sure. But what makes you think talent will also be a problem? I can't say one way or the other... aside from Viggiano and Anderson (both talented I would say), we havent seen most of the players that we will be depending on. So unless you've seen Bowers, Freeman, etc. play, why wo...

Good post, Kris, that sums it up pretty well, at least in my opinion. You could make arguments either way, but I too feel it's more about respecting the way the team and AD want to handle the situation than anything else.

It looks like St. Joe's is going to dominate. No big surprise there...on paper, they have the best backcourt in the A-10, easily one of the best in the nation. In the frontcourt, I think their rookie Ferguson (I remember that we made a late push for him in the spring) will really help, and a few of ...

I'll definitely have to disagree with you on Lee. I thought the opposite was true when I watched him. Good positioning and instincts on defense, a little raw offensively. Of course, if you are including the defensive rebounding when talking about his defense, that definitely needs work. In fact, I t...

Sheesh, definitely reading too much into my post, Massgrad. I myself was reading too much into an erroneous post when I typed that. I have no clue what the coaches/players are up to on campus, or if they are even on campus right now.

well, as far as i know, max will not be playing this year... he is going to redshirt... Are you sure this is true? I would think Lappas would use all the help he can get this yr. Then again, I guess I could see Lappas being secure with redshirting Maxwell if Bowers and Chadwick have impressed him e...

I agree with Swampy, there was nothing that indicated Briggs had "baggage" before all this happened. He had the rep as a good student, hard worker, and to my knowledge, had no previous record of any problems. I guess sometimes it's hard to tell.

Swampy wrote:What this team needs most is someone to help Freeman not look like the Lone Ranger under the boards. Briggs was going to be that player.
Does anybody know how the new Lasme is on the boards? Could he be that other player to give Freeman the needed help with rebounds?

:( Swampy, I agree with you, Briggs was going to have a huge impact...I heard the stuff about him dominating the seniors and everybody else in practice. I'm pissed about this....but, it seems he left Lappas no choice. I also agree with Kris though...I don't know Briggs, he may be a good kid despite ...

That's unfortunate for our team, not to mention Briggs himself. He was probably the most ready to contribute of any of the incoming players, since he had already proven himself a dominant player in practice. Don't know why he'd throw it all away like that. Still, I think we'll be okay with the rest ...
