Re: Benefits of being in the A10

To me the AAC is the logical landing spot. But I also have long thought that UMass compares well with Rutgers as a peer school, all things considered (Maryland also). Perhaps the next time the music stops, I would not complain if we could grab an open seat in a Big Ten game of musical chairs. UMass...

Re: Benefits of being in the A10

What does UMASS have to offer to these conferences? In the case of the AAC they offer: Two rivalries: Temple and UConn. Rivalries are something severely lacking in the AAC but could be very important if they want to improve conference stability. In the case of the AAC and MAC (or any other conferen...

Re: Benefits of being in the A10

Personally would be happier to have a conference championship game and bowl tie in possibilities. Bowl tie ins aren't impossible as an Indy. I believe we're the only Indy without an agreement of some kind. Obviously, conference membership makes that easier, but several eligible MAC schools have bee...

Would love to picture some day (probably long after I'm dead) where we've gone to AAC, have had success in mens and womens hoops and football to the point of being wanted by the Big 12 or Big Ten.
That's the dream. Hopefully, I'm around to see it.

Re: Benefits of being in the A10

Counterpoint: What are the advantages of moving from the A10 to the MAC? Answer: None. Increased revenue from the league is probably off-set by a loss in revenue from having less appealing conference opponents, fewere opportunities to play buy games, and increased expenses for travel. Recruiting to...

Re: Benefits of being in the A10

Who says the MAC is willing to have us? That's a hell of an assumption.

You missed the point. WTF are the advantage of being in the A10. that we should feel justified to screw football to stay in the A10.
It's not financial and obviously Buffalo can recruit in the MAC.
Pointing to Buffalo, isn't that survivorship bias?

Re: Benefits of being in the A10

You are assume there is no pressure to reduce the required amount of institutional support needed to support Athletics. So joining the MAC will save a whole ~$80 off the average cost of attendance of ~$34.5k (weighted for in state, out of state, new england, and international populations and COAs)?...

Re: Who will not be back next year?

^ Being released from a LOI is not the same as transferring. If you release a player from an LOI you can't dictate where he can or can't go... unless you prove tampering, which I've never seen happen. FWIW, last year Wichita State had a commitment from a Memphis area player who played for Penny Har...

Disappointing game.

I have (6) tickets in the Balcony for the finals that I no longer can use. Can transfer them electronically if anyone is interested in them. $10 each or best offer. Don’t have to buy all six.

Go UMass!
Might want to post them on BC or NU forums.

Re: Who will not be back next year?

Here's the Rivals top 50 point guards. Not much to choose from unless we can convince Fernandes to decommit from Wichita State. There are a few other quality prep/high school seniors available not in the top 50, but good players. Pierre-Louis and Hutchins are a couple to keep an eye on. For your ad...

We were seeded higher than we deserved. Awful game for a national audience to see. Had to hurt recruiting. Ugh.
An NCAA appearance hurt recruiting? You can't be serious.

Re: 2019-20 Coaching Changes thread

Truman is rolling over in his grave. At least UMass had (has?) a modicum of cache to it... Good luck to whoever inherits the dumpster fire of UMKC. On the other hand, UMKC never had anything to lose. Nothing more than a single postseason appearance in their 30 seasons at DI. And that was an invitat...

Are you even a fan of UMass basketball? Seems like all you do is keep tabs on the % of what topics people post about and just troll everyone’s comments...such an internet badass
Well shit. I thought that was my job. lol
