^ DII Lock Haven plays DI field hockey in the A-10.
Good catch. Field hockey too.

Looks like other sports are golf (ie DII Augusta), bowling (ie DII Caldwell), rowing (ie DIII MIT), rifle (ie DII North Georgia), and baseball (ie DII Dallas Baptist).

Re: Game 12 (2018-19): Princeton

I'm more surprised by the lack of story in the Herald. Maybe they have been following the top 4 and thought it was D3! We get it. D1 hockey has a lot of non traditional powers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Isn't it one of the few sports (I think lacrosse is the only other) that can be played at the DI level by a non-...

Re: NET Rankings

How about these for headscratchers:
#10 Loyola Marymount
#12 Belmont
#22 Radford

WTF?

If Whip is being paid off with private funds, guess they can be vague on his departure.
We don't know how much (if any) of his compensation, let alone his buyout, comes from public money. I would venture to guess most of it comes from tuition and not tax revenue.

Re: Around the A-10 (2018-19)

Not to pile on but today's A10 nothing like the A10 of the past and that the MAC isnow better. Bitter pill to swallow but all has changed. The A10 is now a bunch of small private back-fill schools who replaced and left behind UMass. URI is like the only like school left UMass and URI are nothing li...

Re: 2018-2019 Season

^ That article is written by the same bitter Lowell fan who's been saying the same talking points for weeks now. I don't know what will happen. We have to hope for the best, but I wouldn't count #NewMass out entirely.

Re: Whip Gone?

Since no more then 50 teams out of 350 can generate a profit, how much should students and taxpayers pay per capital as an acceptable amount. Good question. investment that justifies substantial institutional support including burdening cash-starved students with mandatory payment fees that annuall...

Re: VEGAS GAMES 11/22 &11/23

To be honest, a good part of my frustration is with regards to the women's scheduling. I understand that I should have put this on the womens hoops forum - but combined it in this thread. As an FYI, take a look at the womens OOC schedule. A total embarrassment. Well the minutewomen haven't had a wi...

Re: Game 5, 2018-2019 Arkansas Pine-Bluff 11/19/18

Looked for McKinney in student section... Asked the three there if they were McKinney... No/No/No I spoke with one of the three who told me he is on some student athletics BOD, connect to Athletics... Maybe some Board that has students on it... I think he said there are four students on it. He did ...

Re: VEGAS GAMES 11/22 &11/23

Aren't preseason tournaments always a mixed bag? The "good teams" host on-campus games against the "subpar competition" which leads to destination locations against other good teams. Are we really seeing anything out of the ordinary here?

Re: Head coaching options

However his colleague and former Umass employee ashamed Waldron would be a good HC and might bring Liam as an OC which would give him the experience to possibly be second in line for HC if Waldron were successful. In the NFL, would passing game coordinator experience differ from offensive coordinat...

Additionally, A critical component of attendance is improving the Stadium - the stands, the bathrooms and the overall gamely experience - its not simply about winning.
Isn't Jacobson's donation supposed to also fund those experience upgrades?

Re: Around the A-10 (2018-19)

And no HS gyms like Duquesne, Fordham, St. Bonnies, La Salle. I'm not a fan of the hybrid gym-arena situation of the A10 either. But it could be worse. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Average Arena Capacity by Conference: 1. Big Ten - 14,794 2. SEC - 14,659 3. Big East - 14,386 4. ACC - 14,250 5. Big 12 - 13,294 6. Moun...

I thought the NCAA got rid RPI and replaced it with another stat.
They did. However, the NET rankings haven't come out yet.
