Re: 2021 Recruiting

He should go the Prep route just to play against better comp... If the staff thinks he can play at this level or higher do we really want him to reclassify to "increase recruiting exposure"? When I say that I'm thinking about the player and all his opportunities, not just his potential opportunity ...

Re: 2021 Recruiting

What's level of competition Tyriek is playing against? I mean, 2 zillion points and a zillion rebounds is impressive, but against whom? Public high schools in RI, or in other words, not the best. It's the primary reason it would be in Tyriek's best interest to at the very least transfer to prep sch...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

To clarify the last two, and I do always recommend reading the pieces over on Fight Massachusetts, these two players were no longer takes for UMass this cycle. That's different than a player electing to leave on their own. FWIW.

Re: Makar The Younger signs on

Taylor is going to have a very tough act to follow obviously. His Jr A stats aren't as gaudy as Cale's, and he's also a forward not a defenseman. Taylor is not playing in all of Brooks' games this year either, though I do think the plan was for him to come to UMass next year. Taylor is bigger than C...

Re: 2020 Season

For clarification here, I believe what Bamford said was more to the effect that UMass in this recruiting cycle cannot take mostly or all transfers in the hopes of having some sort of immediate, band-aid-type success He was talking about letting the current coaching staff have the time to build the p...

Re: Jamaica Classic 2020

With the new Multi-Team Event (MTE) rules, you won't be getting four games as part of a tournament anymore. That should take effect officially next season, but there may be some tournaments that are implementing it for this season. https://www.bloggingthebracket.com/2019/6/27/18307537/college-basket...

Re: KAEO: ‪Khalea Turner-Morris‬

Does anyone get granted a waiver because their program was in bad shape? Seems like there would be a hell of a lot of waivers in that case. Thanks rsox1221. Would you mind explaining what the criteria are for getting a waiver, and what the situation was at CSU last year that gives them confidence a...

KAEO: Dibaji Walker

As of Friday night Walker had not received a waiver. However I was told that the coaching staff feel "very confident" that he will get one given the situation he left at Cleveland State last season. CSU was, to put it delicately, a hot mess last year and that plays in Walker's favorite regarding the...

Re: KAEO: ‪Khalea Turner-Morris‬

Turner-Morris has been medically DQ'd. He'll remain on scholarship at UMass but it's not a basketball scholarship and doesn't count towards the team's scholarship limit.

Because KTM was medically DQ'd that means that Dibaji Walker is on scholarship and not walking on this season.

^ November 19th, 2022 the #Minutemen will travel to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies Per FBSchedules, A&M will pay UMass a $1.7M guarantee for the game per a FOIA request of the game contract Does anyone think it helps recruiting when we can show recruits that we will be playing at p...

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

^^ I don't know the details. I was told it was a "travel document" issue that they couldn't get resolved in time. If anyone knows the full story we would all like to hear it unless it is something that should not be made public. Quite odd. A US citizen traveling from the US through PR to the USVI w...

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

So was Carl the one that had a passport issue? I thought I heard somewhere MM said a player was having an issue with that. Correct. I didn't want to give the name until it was obvious and also to clarify that he wasn't left behind due to injury. I'm a touch confused. This is the US Virgin Islands. ...

Based on tweets from Alan, it looks like this was done in conjunction with the Department. It may only be two pieces, but they look pretty good, especially the shorts.
Won't be the last options for throwback gear, all of it licensed through the department. Keep an eye out mid-August
