As an out of stater (originally from Mass) I'm curious - how has he been on supporting the University on $$$ issues in the legislature? Mascot support is great, but the big issue is who is going to help the school avoid some of the outrageous budget cuts coming out of Boston.

Nice move Lefty! I get all the way to the end, no one's referenced Tom Waits and then you pull it out. Still think it would make a unique fight song!

Just an idle thought, but any chance he found it on this board and linked to the ProJo?

Another school that gets a lot of extra mileage because of the nickname is South Carolina. Seen a lot of Cocks hats on folks I'm pretty sure aren't supporting Lou Holtz and the Gamecocks! If we're set on making the change, maybe we should try a similar angle - Umass Porn Stars? Works as well as wolv...

With nothing on the official UMass site, you can pretty much guarantee that they don't have the letter of intent in hand for either this kid or Carrier. Carrier seems to come with a reasonable explanation, mom is in California, he has to sign then get the papers to her and back to Umass. Based on wh...

Since your post is obviously a joke or you need another 30 IQ points to qualify as stupid, I shouldn't respond to this post, but what the hell. Bruiser has done nothing here or anywhere else to warrant the bitterness of your assessment. Fact is, his Umass winning % is .544, something Lappas might be...

I would agree that Leaman was the #1 game coach/teacher Umass has ever had. Calipari was the #1 recruiter in my mind. Jack probably the #2 recruiter, Cal probably the #2 coach/teacher. In a game of druthers, who would you rather have?

New Name?

Hoopmasters (new site from Bob Gibbons and Van Coleman) lists us as one of 3 schools on the list of Top-75 2G Jimmy Tobias of Miami. Other schools involved are said to be Oklahoma and South Florida. Anyone know anything about this? Article is from today, so info should be pretty fresh.

Probably too early to put Richmond in that group. I think they will ultimately prove to be a very solid addition to the A-10 - competitive almost every year and capable of making the tourney every 3 or 4. The problem with Duquesne and Fordham is that they are there for the TV/media markets, but suck...
