Re: Game 22 +23 (2017-18): Northeastern

My wife and I went to the game last night, our first hockey game in a while and first under Carvel. Guess we picked as good one to see. We were really impressed with the team, they really seemed sharp out there. They played with real discipline and exhibited a lot of talent for a young team. Obvious...

Re: McGuirk Upgrade

It is almost unthinkable that they would relocate the football stadium, especially if they complete the IPF. I think their goal is to use the IPF as an anchor point for more development in that area, possibly athletic-focused dorms or other future buildings. So if that gets done, I think that will s...

Re: Game #2 @ Boston College

Know this is a bit early, but has anyone taken the T D line to Chestnut Hill. Is the walk save, side walks etc. Any experiences or other recommendations as the walk is less than a mile. Hammond street to Reservoir Ave I've never done what you are suggesting, I always take the B line. But I looked a...

Re: State of the Progam

Sorry for the long post, but here goes anyway… Looking back on the last four seasons, there definitely has been improvement in some areas. Last season was tough because we played 10 teams with six or more wins. But looking at 2014 and 2015 where the competition level was somewhat similar to 2017, ou...

Re: Any UMASS Superfans???

Not sure if this qualifies, but I'd nominate my parents, who had season tickets from 1966/67 (I don't have stubs back that far so I can't verify, but I know we arrived in Amherst in 1965 when I was two and started going to games a year or two after that) until 2008. My dad passed away in June 2009, ...

Re: Game # 11: BYU

I want to congratulate the players on a huge statement win against BYU on the road. The guys won today because of persistence, hard work, guts and a ton of heart. I give ZERO credit to the coaches. Say what you want about Whipple, but if there is no OC then he goes, end of story. This game was won ...

Re: Game # 11: BYU

I am refraining from any negative comments today, but when you are a +5 in turnovers, the game should still not be a nail biter with 6 minutes to go. That said, great effort by the defense today. I just hope they can hold on here. LOL, a half yard more on 4th and 27 and we'd be chewing our fingers ...

Re: Game # 11: BYU

Special teams rears its ugly head again. One more first down and we may have had them. Play calling just boggles the mind.

Re: Game # 11: BYU

Well, that sucked. Bad luck to trip over your own guy. But again, getting way too conservative way too early. They've been successful all day with a control passing game, and now they abandon it.

Huge sack for Montiero. Lucky that 4th down ball wasn't caught. Need some first downs now.

Great stop by the D. Coverage sack. Nearly barfed on that fair catch, but miraculously got it back. Whew! :?

Isabella! What a move he put on that corner! There wasn't anyone in 15 yards of him when he caught the ball.

Re: Game # 11: BYU

ESPN3 working fine for me. Actually really nice to be able to watch it. Disappointing end to a very good drive (though I could have lived without the flea flicker). Feels like we gave up on the run some time during that drive, and that is a killer at the goal line. I understand that isn't their stre...
