Re: 2019-20 Season

I agree. Also the pairwise, dropped down to 27. And I know most people are gonna tell me it’s too early to worry, but I wonder how many teams worked their way up from the bottom half at thanksgiving for example, to an at large bid.

Re: Game 8 - UMass at UNH Sunday 1 pm

Frustrating for many reasons. Not the least of which (to me anyways) is it knocks UMass out of the top 16 of the pairwise. With the exception of right after they lost to NU the first time, this is basically the first time UMass isn’t in the top 16 since the 17-18 season. I hope like hell we don’t lo...

Re: The secular decline of football in high school

Disagree. It has to do with recruiting.

As to 78’s comments, It should be illegal to play tackle football for 8 and 9 year olds. Let them play flag if they’d like but that’s terrible to have them tackle and get brain trauma so young.

Re: Game 10: "The Greatest Gameday Experience in America"

I think that a warrior like Pete Brock is So credible, removing him from the broadcast would say a lot about this whole mess called being an FBS 'wannabe', and more about a '1984' sports administration re; the failure of the FBS move. Frankly, if the most rabid FBS fan base on this site could not g...

Re: The secular decline of football in high school

Good. There should be a decline. It’s a very violent game and there are long term repercussions from playing, even at the high school level. If I had kids there’s no way in hell I’d let them play even a down of tackle football. I don’t really understand why a 14 year old’s parents lets them play wit...

Re: Game 10: "The Greatest Gameday Experience in America"

Listened for the first time all season because I don’t have CBSSports. I only made it through the first half before shutting it off, but I wondered if this was the first football game Jay Burnham (sp?) had ever watched. Seemed confused on several plays. Had to ask his color guy about the rules at le...

Re: Game 10: "The Greatest Gameday Experience in America"

Was toying with the idea of going. Saw hockey at Army once, and enjoyed a rare OT win under Michelleto. Also enjoyed the campus. Would be nice to see a football game there. Then my car had mercy on my soul today and broke down on the way to work. It’s been an extremely dependable car, and now has my...

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

Everyone, I have the solution. I've been saying it for years. Make Hockey East an All Sports Conference. Still call the conference Hockey East. Force the FCS Hockey East Schools to be FBS Hockey East Football Conference (FBS) UMass UConn Boston College Maine UNH Merrimack Holy Cross (women's Hockey ...

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

So have some balls and admit reject the All sports invite was a bad decision! But really the worst decision involving the MAC was agreeing to a contract that made our membership contingent upon Temple's. Re leaving the MAC: from a football perspective leaving the MAC was bad. Would have also probab...

Re: 2019-20 Season

Excellent game tonight. Huge four points this weekend against a top 10 team. When’s the last time that’s happened, if ever? Gives the tie breaker over NU in hockey east and also puts UMass in the drivers seat for the pairwise comparison between the two. I love this hockey team.

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

People have short term memory and apparently forget how atrocious Molnar was both on and off the field. Bell might end up being a terrible coach but Molnar wasn’t better

Re: State of the Progam

What Bell needed to do this year is to play normal FB instead of the hurry up offense and maybe even next year while he builds up the team to play the style he wants to. The rugby punts are atrocious and cost us ground instead of regular punts. The color guy on TV said it looks like they have never...

Re: Game 8: vs UConn - 10/26/2019 (Homecoming Weekend)

Disappointing to hear about Parking. I got there at 2:30 PM and had no trouble. Well, a bit of trouble as someone else was driving and got in the wrong lane. Thankfully we’re both season ticket holders and both have different lot passes, so we just used my pass and were fine. While we’re complaining...
