Re: 2019-20 Season
That clinches the one seed for BC. One of UConn or UMass could tie them, but BC has tie breakers over both. UConn flat out dominated the entire game. Bad luck the net got knocked off before the puck crossed the goal line early in the first, but after that UConn was objectively better. For that reaso...

Re: 2019-20 Season
BC unfortunately blew out Merrimack tonight. They’re up four points on UMass now with both teams having three games left. This weekend, four points are a must if there’s any shot of defending the regular season title. Hope BU gets some points Saturday from BC and UNH finds whatever magic they had ag...

Re: 2019-20 Season
Big, big win. Huge. Major props to Coach Carvel and the team bouncing back from such a gut wrenching loss to a team you were 2-20-1 against in the last 8 years. Speaks volumes of the mental toughness. As to Lindberg, I'm not sure. He let in a goal on the first shot. Then I believe he was late coming...

Re: 2019-20 Season
That was the second worst goal I’ve ever seen in my life. Only thing worse was the goal that tied the 2015 national championship. Add in the Kiefuk broken jaw on top of Langunov being out for the season and Chaffee also out this weekend at least. I was fully planning on driving out to Amherst tonigh...

Re: 2019-20 Season
UML was swept this weekend, bringing them down to 15 in the pairwise. Friday and Saturday are now basically must win for them if they want a shot at an at large bid. I hope the Minutemen are ready.

Re: 2019-20 Season
I’m sitting in 106 10th row. Lowell Beerworks is a five minute walk from the rink. That’s probably where I’ll be in advance with cousin who went to UML.
Also, it’s possible that BC will be alone in first by faceoff. They’re two points back with a game tonight and a game Thursday.

Good to hear. I’m going to both games next weekend as well. Hope to see a lot of you there.

Re: 2019-20 Season
Sweep was a PWR saver. Very satisfying. PC season now on life support whereas I’m back to being cautiously optimistic about the UMass season. Now a much needed break before a home and home with UML. UML has owned UMass, especially since Bazin came in. There is a true hatred in Lowell for the Minutem...

Re: The demise of Hockey East as we know it??
One thing I just thought of: CAA take over was almost a disaster for all northern schools. Once Hofstra and Northeastern cut football, they started expanding southwards with more Virginia and Georgia teams. And IIRC there was some weird membership rule where full CAA members had a say in who joined ...

Re: The demise of Hockey East as we know it??
On the one hand, agreed with Sheck though I’d say it’s more in line with when the A-10 absorbed the football only Yankee Conference to get voting rights. Didn’t the B1G pull something behind the rest of the College Hockey world’s back and no one could stop them because they were the only conference ...

Re: 2019-20 Season
Playing with the pairwise calculator on College hockey news, simulating this upcoming BC game only, this game very important. Almost must win for an at large spot. Right now UMass is in 7th in the pairwise. A win or tie keeps UMass at 7. A loss knocks UMass back to 12. BC stays at 5 regardless of ou...

Re: State of the Progam
Unfortunately of the 4 goals, the most important for the future of the program is the one missing.
I guess it’s a good reminder to not expect much next season and hope 2021 is better.

Re: 2019-20 Season
My assumption is that if Denver had scored, they would have counted it. So we’re in a situation where only one team is allowed to score. That’s crap. Either blow it dead right away or count the goal.

Re: 2020 Season
It’s going to be another very long season. Listening to the Plant the Flag podcast about recruiting day and Bell is stressing he needs another class or two. Bamford has said similar things. So I’m going to believe them that this season isn’t going to be UMass’ year either. Maybe 2022?
