Great idea lms, would be a great thing to have on your resume coming out of college. My only thought would be if there would be some compensation issues down the road if your design got chosen & the school was making money off your idea. Not sure if that would be an issue.

What happens if Maxwell joins the fold? I agree Lasme has the potential to get minutes at both guard spots. If Maxwell decides to come, we could potentially be looking at one of the deepest & most talented guard rotations in a long time. Plus they'll be playing together for at least 2-3 years. If th...

Anyone know what the #1 school is in terms of selling merchandise? I'd be curious to see what the comparisons were between the top 5 schools in terms of merchandising, and what common links they have. Wonder if it's success rate, or just name recognition.

I'll second that VOR. I thought Lasme played well for a freshman. He has the potential to be very good, and could be a very big part of getting us back to where we want to be. Sure he made some mistakes, but again they're young guys. All of them, as they mature and improve will be better. The guard ...

My major concern with this whole thing is that it was put into progress without much public knowledge, opinion, or input from the students, alumni, or faculty. This whole thing was very quickly thrown out into public, and my concern is that any kind of decision like this would be made or looked into...

Minuteman merchandise

What if we all start a petition to buy some UMass shirts or sweatshirts if they agree to keep the minuteman & just come up with a new design or whatever. Then we will be putting our money where our mouths are. We will get what it seems the majority wants and it may ignite sales of UMass stuff, raisi...

Any word on Lasme?

To get back to some basketball, anyone hear anything about Mike Lasme or where he might be going? Would think that he needs to make a decision soon to get into someone else's program. When does the signing period end for recruits and transfers? Any word on anyone else we are close to signing?

Doesn't most of the UMass merchandise not even depict the minuteman anyway? I think the handwritten U mass is ugly and looks cheap. Maybe that's why the stuff doesn't sell. I don't think the logos on the uniforms look that good either. I personally haven't seen much with the minuteman on it.

I agree Jeff93, I think more people buy UMass stuff because of their affiliation with the school, except for the younger kids who I would guess, buy more when the teams are doing well. Tough call either way, I guess their focus is strictly on bringing in more $$, which in these times, you can't blam...

VOR Since this is your background, what is the difficulty with somehow changing the Minuteman logo? What makes it so hard to adapt? The historical relevance of it is significant, really identifies the area & it's history. Honestly I don't view it as particularly offensive, but again I am a white mal...

VOR, Is it your experience that any new logo or design change will sell basically due to the fact that it is fresh and new? This would be the only advantage to this proposed change, increased sales because everyone wants to be with the latest stuff. Probably be a bigger hit with the younger crowd th...

I'm guessing there may be a few more sports programs they'll have to cut, because I think the contributions to the athletic dept. will be shrinking. Hope the new logo & nickname is good so the sales of the new shirts makes up the difference. IMHO, I don't think this is about becoming more PC, but it...
