Re: Vote for Cale for the Hobey Baker

How good is this kid? We are spoiled being able to watch him play for our team. He is dominant every shift on the ice and makes difficult plays look easy. Any old timers have any comps from hockey east? Different positions but the only player I can think of that dominated a game the way Cale is curr...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2019

I’m still high from last night. Back to back dominating performances. This team is so fun to watch and the Umass crowd definitely showed up, much better than Friday.

Re: NCAA Tournament 2019

That's two straight years St. Cloud has been the #1 overall seed and picked off in the first round. Last year it was a 4-1 loss to Air Force. St Cloud dominated that 3rd period. AIC goalie made some clutch stops near the end. Ice was tilted the same way Umass dominated shots and possession. One tea...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2019

FWIW saw a long line outside after the first intermission with people lining up for tickets. Some of them were in UMass gear. Still, this crowd is at least as good as what they'd get here for a Monarchs game. Box office and will call setup was a joke. Anyone arriving to the arena around puck drop l...

Re: 2015 Recruiting needs and potential recruits

Wonder if we can get anyone from Syracuse with this whole scandal. . .bring in one of their bigs! Wishful thinking, Syracuse is still eligible for the postseason next year so I doubt any of their top recruits will back out. They are losing 3 scholarships each of the next 4 years, but that still sho...

Re: Game 30, 2014-15: Richmond

Cady turned the ball over on about a quarter of his non-rebound touches. I'm sorry but that's not good. It's hard to put the majority of blame on Cady. The double team was there pretty much as the pass was reaching him. Sure, he could have made better decisions with the ball once he got it but ther...

Re: Game 30, 2014-15: Richmond

Richmond is such a disciplined old school team and their players buy into the Princeton offense and matchup zone defense. DK and the team knew what they would be facing and still had no answers. Cady should have scored 20+ and it's on his team and coaching that he didn't. He scored uncontested layup...

Re: A-10 Tournament 2015

Looking at the standings and tiebreakers, there are 2 ways to get the bye if Umass can go 2-0. 1) uri loses sat, Dayton wins sat, Davidson loses Thursday or sat. 2) VCU loses Thursday and sat. A win tonight and the VCU at Davidson game will determine if we will be looking at scenario 1 or 2 on Satur...

Re: A-10 Tournament 2015

True, bet they are 0-2 vs top 4 and 5-1 against the rest of league. I just having a hard time figuring out why we think every Umass game will be a battle but we are so quick to give automatic wins to other teams in the league. Uri is home vs st joes and Dayton is at Lasalle and we are penciling both...

Re: A-10 Tournament 2015

GW has lost just twice at home, however. Once to VCU and once by 2 to Davidson. Not saying it's impossible, but I'd say 70/30 GW win (hope I'm wrong). GW beat no one good on their home court in their ooc so their home record is a little deceiving. They are a very similar team to Umass this year, th...

Re: A-10 Tournament 2015

Looks like some of us have different viewpoints on this GW team. What we will know going into this game is Umass will be 5-3 on the road in conference and GW will be 6-2 at home in conference. Let's re-visit this after next wed when we see how both teams fare in their next 2 games. "If you want to c...

Re: A-10 Tournament 2015

It all depends on how you want to spin it. Fordham, 4-11 9-17, they won a few recent games but that is still their record. Umass is home and will be a decent size favorite. Richmond, you can't mention GW's senior day and leave out that this is our senior day, although I don't think senior day has an...

Re: A-10 Tournament 2015

Are we really giving up the notion of getting a bye? They are still in a decent position to win the last 3 games, not saying they will but looking at the schedule there isn't that "looks like a likely loss" game. The uri and VCU games were in that category and they lost both. The SJU game sucked but...

Re: 2014-2015 Rankings, Polls, Bracketology

Let's keep it alive until the next loss. We will no longer be mentioned in any bubble talk but if they somehow win out and lose in A10 finals, this board will at least be watching the selection show.

30 points in 4 minutes has to be some sort of record.

Walton and Kareem on the ucla broadcast is very entertaining
