Re: COVID- 19 VACCINE SHOT

Got my first Pfizer shot today (my wife got hers a week ago). Virginia set up a database to input your information, but I'm not sure if that helped getting on the list. They still use the daily signup around noon each weekday and it may double check to see if you qualify for an acceptable group. Bas...

Well played sir.

I heard they are going to grab a replacement and just let him wing it.

Re: Help me remember the name this former UMass player

I seem to remember Alex "Boo" Eldridge. Although this link (found in another thread on this site) uses the term "Boob" along with nicknames for several others. I like that the uniforms disappeared after a short time. https://archive.org/details/index1978univ/page/194/mode/2up?vie...

Some concerns with injury issues. Hopefully they go away down the road.

Re: 2020-21 Atlantic 10 season

Since the A-10 is using W/L percentages for seeding, it would have been nice if they had just played the GW game. It was a winnable game which would have helped our seeding (of course it was the Smith Center, though :x ), but I guess there were just too many questions of getting the necessary suppor...

Re: Game 12, 2020-21: at Richmond (2/23)

Decent enough effort. Had a chance to complete the come back with about 7 minutes to go, but the wheels kind of came off. Coming off the long layoff, Mitchell shaking off the rust coming off the injury, no help from the zebras. Giving up way too many layups, unless the plan is to encourage the oppon...

Re: Time for a Dr. J Statue?

https://everythingwhat.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-make-a-bronze-statue This generic bronze statue cost estimate (60-100K) is from one year ago. Add in costs for design, site prep, and whatever else is involved. I agree with Mike's suggestion above about the good doctor skying above the competitio...

Re: Greatest of All Time?

^ Good point about the baseball all-star games. It's tough to play baseball at half speed. The only overly aggressive play I can recall was Pete Rose barreling over Ray Fosse in the 1970 game. Here's a link to relive the details about the All-Star games: https://www.baseball-reference.com/allstar/

Re: Greatest of All Time?

Brady is now tied with Bart Starr and Otto Graham for the most championships won by a starting quarterback in professional football. All three did what they needed to do to help get their team over the top, so it is tough to separate them. Starr and Graham each had a pretty decent head coach and org...

Outstanding rants from Jack and he presents all legitimate observations and questions. No excuses for the total screw up. Too many people doing the right things were thrown under the bus by incompetence and inattention.

Re: Makar in NHL

Eleven games into the season and Cale has twelve points (one goal and eleven assists) and a +9.

Now he gets a mini vacation as the Avalanche (7-3-1 for 15 points) will not play at least the next four scheduled games per COVID protocols.

Re: John Chaney passes

Thanks to all for answering my sell-out question. I couldn't recall if the Chaz et al. era brought some full houses. Since they did not allow any spectators into this year's games and they possibly turned away people at the door, did we technically sell-out this season? I was watching some...

Re: COVID- 19 VACCINE SHOT

Our county has done a good job of physically administering the vaccines at the local college's athletics center with transportation from the parking lots and minimal wait times for the scheduled appointments. They've done a lousy job of setting up the appointments with a crap-shoot, short daily wind...
