Re: Gotta do better than this

Fundraising for the school, while still low for a major state university, has increased significantly in recent years. This can be attributed to the stronger academic profile of the university. The Commonwealth College and Isenberg business school, in particular, have attracted top flight students, h...

Re: Gotta do better than this

My point, in earlier post, was regarding disappointment in attendance and fund raisin in general.

This particular request to support Coach Bell is something I have no intention to donate to. I will continue to donate annually to Gridiron Club but not to one time initiatives.

Re: Gotta do better than this

It is frustrating to see the lack of alumni support for athletics both in terms of financial and attendance. While I see attendance as something that can be addressed by winning (ie this years hockey team) financial support of athletics has always been terrible. There are 2 sports that can generate ...

Re: Game 10, 2018-2019 Providence 12/7/18

Great win!

I think that Pierre hitting 5 of 6 3's in the second half after 0 points in the first, certainly was a major reason for comeback.

Re: Walt Bell

I spoke to a very connected Florida State Alumni and booster - attends almost all games home and away. He spoke well of Bell and feels he is an up and comer. He felt he was a good recruiter even though he was only there a year. The situation at FSU is very tenuous. Without a big improvement next yea...

Re: Walt Bell

As I mentioned, I very much want to see the program and Walt Bell to succeed. I will continue to support the program and will look forward to meeting him at one of the upcoming events. Maryland 2016/17 6-7 Maryland 2017/18 4-8 Florida State 2018/19 5-7 (4-7 against FBS teams 3-6 in very weak ACC) 1-...

Re: Walt Bell

Dickie In trying to assess Verdi's record to date here in comparison to Sharon Dawley, who he replaced, I compare out of conference records for the past 5 years Under Dawley 2014/15 7-7 15/16 7-7 Under Verdi' 16/17 6-8 17/18 8-6 18/19 5-4 (thus far) Very similar records and Sharon Dawley had a terri...

Re: Walt Bell

Carvel is tremendous. Verdi is a bust. I have not been critical of McCall. The scheduling is poor and losing to Howard and a very undermanned Harvard team is disappointing. I hope McCall is successful and he may well be. But let's not worry about losing him until he actually accomplishes something. ...

Re: Walt Bell

I certainly hope he is successful and will be supportive. While he may have left FSU to take a job for less (do we know that) the atmosphere there about the football program there has to Put him on pins and needles. They do not accept failure there and I strongly suggest Taggert is on the hot seat e...

Re: Walt Bell

A very very unimpressive hire. Florida State had its 1st losing record since 2076. The head coach Taggert may be gone in another year. Our team struggled mightily on defense and Bamford hires an offensive coordinator - -and a bad one at that. Although I personally like Mark Whipple, I agreed with th...

Re: What will we look like in 2018-2019?

I was at the game and 1) Did not notice or look to see if players had their hoods covering their heads 2) Did not see or hear any interaction from the evidently 1 or 2 fans who objected to it. However those who objected to it are certainly within their rights to complain about it. After all everyone...

Evidently this board is loaded with SJW (Social Justice Warriors).

How did the kneeling for the National Anthem work out for the NFL.

Re: 2018-2019 Season

Verdi is a bad coach and was a poor hire.

I was one of about 100 people at the game last night.
