Re: 2024-25 Season

Frank said it earlier this season when asked about what was needed for next year. I don't know if the 3 incoming recruits bring this, but lots of players in the portal. Another 3 point shooter A rim protector More athleticism We do not even know if the income 3 recruits will stay committed - do we?

Re: Game 31, 2023-24: A10 Tourney Quarters (3/14)

Saw 3 different casino odds. VCU by 1.5, pick-em, us by 1.5. I took Umass +1 which is basically a pick'em. I like the over much more at 138..... I put more than a couple bucks on that. I like that we are slight dogs as the higher seed. Just another small piece of motivation for the guys. Also, just...

Re: Game 31, 2023-24: A10 Tourney Quarters (3/14)

the usher wouldn’t let my boys go to our seats in the upper level, because I was at concessions and I had the tickets on my phone😁 Am I understanding you correctly - the usher wanted to see the kids' tickets but only you had them? That seems a bit much. If you're trying to sit down low, yeah I coul...

Re: First reaction: UMass to the MAC

Hey UDel did what was best for them and we did what was best for us. This has a feel of a long term commitment. The investment in athletics will accelerate with 8 to 10 times the conference revenue growth. As our AD said, we are hitting the gas, no brakes. Frank Martin is a real team player, his wi...

Re: Coach Frank Martin

-Frank Martin at today's Press Conference about UMass moving to a new conference. That is not specific enough for me. Was he told of the options available (if any at the time)? Or was he told who they were pursuing (at the time)? The math ain't mathin' if you ask me. You are not going to pay a coac...

Re: 2023-2024 Reasonable expectations

I forgot about this thread.

Not bad predicting by many here - I obviously missed by a lot on the low side, but I would rather be pleasantly surprised than dissapointed.

20 regular season wins feels good really fucking good.

It Sure does - I predicted less than that and would have been more than content with 18.

That said - they should be at 23 (at least). They would probably be just in or out of the "Others Receiving Votes"

Re: Coach Frank Martin

Not only do most of these guys want to play for him, the proof is now in the pudding that he's building something here and they're winning. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that? Re: Coach in 2025-26?

^ Yes, it was announced that UMass can participate in conference tournaments next year. That is great to hear! That has to be Franks rally cry for this roster at the end of this season. They seem to be gelling - if they have a reasonable run in the tourney (conf. Semi's or better) - he should needs...

Re: Coach in 2025-26?

Honestly I don’t care about frank staying, as someone else noted, I care more about these current players sticking around. Eldon, do you think they stick around if he goes? I doubt it. They came here to play for him. The right kids hear the message, not the volume, and I think it's a certain type p...
