Re: 2020 Season

I am strangely optimistic about this coming season - assuming there is a season. I have almost no reason to be with the exception that I don't think it can possibly be worse than last year. All i know it that I am not a Brito fan at all.... If he is the starting QB, I may have to rescind the above o...

Re: 2020-21 Season

^ Don’t rule out in those games that we might struggle tre playing the 4 with gasperini at the 5 Why is that? Tre is as comfortable from the 3 area as he is in the box. That makes Tre much harder to guard. If he is dragging the opposing 4 away from the basket to defend him, he will eat them alive. ...

I suspect at 6'10" that his motor is pretty high.

Jai Smith (@jai_smith131) a 6' 10" forward from St. Thomas More (CT) has received an offer from UMass.
Just reclassed from 2022 to 2021.

Cool - any word on his motor?

I am not sure I can get on board with any recruit if he doesn't have a high motor?

I am also a Yankee fan and A-Rod is possibly my most dis-liked Yankee of all time.

Worst signing in the last 30 years.....

Re: 2020 Season

^^^ Hurst and Clemens were a deadly 1 and 2 back in the 80s. Back when I was a little tike and before Roger became a hateable dink. Haven't you yet realized that they ARE ALL hateable dinks? It is merely a matter of whether they are your hateable dink or someone else's. People are already turning h...

Re: Pat Kelsey

Someone please share what happened with Kelsey! Kelsey got to campus and realized he couldn't deal with an inconsistent color scheme across all athletic uniforms and university sweatshirts on a year to year basis. Had to back down. So it wasn’t the increasing insertion of “Amherst” on University of...

Re: The rise of the UMass football program...

Unless we NEED a conference right now (which I trust the administration has a pulse on), I think we're best riding this out and hoping that there are larger forces at play that encourage conferences back towards regional/peer alignment. Ultimately that would be the best case scenario for the NCAA i...

Re: The rise of the UMass football program...

No one's excited now. Please don't speak for everyone. That is a very fair statement. There are still many supporters. Despite my previous posts pointing to the contrary - I still support this. My expectations however are very low.... I also think that many of the originally "very excited" are no l...

Re: The rise of the UMass football program...

And just a follow up on above - The AAC was pretty ecstatic to drop UConn's football anchor. They aren't about to add a bigger dead weight with Umass. They still have aspirations of being the P6 - Umass doesn't help that narrative.

Re: The rise of the UMass football program...

Can't just be any conference though, it needs to have meaningful teams to play in there. The only team from the MAC I'd definitely keep in a conference of my own design would be Buffalo. And therein lies the problem..... Umass is not getting into any conference with "meaningful teams" to play at th...
