Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

there seemed to be the least amount of buzz about CJ Jackson coming in, but he looks to be hitting 3s at a high rate. Small sample size, I know, but he looks to be a fluid guard with good length, and a knockdown shooter to boot? "intriguing"

Re: 2020 Recruiting

Cross + Johnson sounds good for next year. Adding a couple 4*s would make our program pretty fierce given who we have coming in this year. That sounds ideal. Two Mass guys, too. I like homegrown talent, and McCall has talked about making UMass a destination for Mass players. If anything, less trave...

Re: 2019-20 season

It was apparent the program needed a hard reset. I'd be more concerned, but I feel good about the addition of Tony and the new guys. If the starting five is: Mitchell Chatman Diallo Pierre Clergeot I'd like to see Chatman make a big jump. He has some physical tools but lacks feel for the game. My ho...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

Matt Cross says toward the end of this article he'd like to sign before the HS season https://247sports.com/college/xavier/Article/Xavier-Musketeers-Basketball-Recruiting-Matt-Cross-2020-Forward-Massachusetts-BABC-Travis-Steele--132210096/ Not too long ago, it seemed like we were a lock to land him....

Re: 2019 Recruiting

I'd feel comfortable with MAW and Clergeot platooning at the one. I'd like Sean Miller-Moore. We need a mature wing who has strength, can guard, slash, get up and down the court, etc., as long as he's a team guy, and I have to imagine he is if he's currently being recruited. DeGray would be great, t...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2019

So heartwarming to watch Bruce Pearl go to the Final Four. Now I get the "pleasure" of rooting against Duke.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm into this NCAA business

Article on Mika Adams Woods being open to playing for, presumably Fred Hoiberg and mentions his HS coach told him UMass is still interested https://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/neb ... c8b70.html

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Ironically, we could really use a point guard like Derek Kellogg right about now.

I'm confident McCall can find a pg who can bring the ball up, set up the offense, hit the open shot, defend, and ... NOT turn the ball over... !

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Looks like there's some interest in 2019 PG Josh Pierre-Louis. He's re-opened his commitment since Marvin Menzies was let go at UNLV

Re: 2019 Recruiting

^ He might even be doing UMass a favor by showing the other five, and then choosing us - the best choice for him - despite other seemingly great options.

I don't like having this unresolved either, but I'm glad the season's over... ready for some good news, and program-changing NLIs.

Re: State of the program

^ That's too bad. I don't know how other successful college coaches interact with supporters, but it makes it harder to give a guy the benefit of the doubt when the team's losing and the coach can't be bothered to show interest in the fans. I want McCall to succeed here, regardless. Me and Matt don'...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Interesting to see crystal ball predictions for UMass in Tre Mitchell's 247 profile. That's new.

I read on a UConn message board not long ago he might reclassify to 2020. No idea about that, but I think it'd be a big deal if he chose us
