I'd take Carmelo over anyone in a game of HORSE. I remember being at a shootaround before a game, I think at Rutgers, and he was standing at the top of the opposite key with his back to the far basket and launching one-handed 70-footers over his shoulder. Regularly hitting at least the backboard, i...

Chaney Rant

My apologies if this is posted elsewhere but I saw today that Chaney's threats made No. 2 on one list of worst coach rants. Great memory.

Is that DK intervening?

You mean like Stanford hiring Johnny Dawkins?

This is a conversation that was had on this board the last time Knight was unemployed and when the UMass basketball program was in full cardiac arrest.

Not sure why we need to rehash this several years later when things are different.

I bet they end up closer to top 25 than top 50.

Today in History - 3/26

"1992: The Minutemen's most successful season to date ends with a 87-77 loss to Kentucky in the East Region semi-final of the NCAA Tournament in Philadelphia. Jim McCoy hits a 3/4 court shot at the halftime buzzer."

Worst technical ever called. Period.

"This is worse," Syracuse freshman Donte Greene said when asked to compare Tuesday's collapse to the loss to Pitt. "I think we were up more in this game. And no offense to UMass, but they're not as talented as Pittsburgh."" So. That doesn't change the fact that 'Cuse lost twice to UMass this year, ...

I just got home from the Dome. I am still speechless and feel like I gave birth. That was so freakin' awesome. Thanks to the team for not giving up. You provided us with a memory that will not soon fade. Ed-thanks for emailing me about the game. Even though it was difficult to make it given my work ...

If UMass does, I assume that he'll complain that it was because the game was unfairly close to the UMass fan base....oops wrong year. :)

A very telling quote from Ronnie C's recap: "When the ball goes up for a rebound, everybody wants it," said Nivins, who scored 20 points in the first half. "It doesn't take a lot of skill to box out, though. It takes will." http://www.masslive.com/sports/republican/index.ssf?/base/sports-3/11999550...

Just got back from the game. What a great win.

As the guy in front of me noted, Forbes' 3 at the end of the game was reminiscent of Harper's 3 in the prior UMass win over 'Cuse.

Good times. Go UMass.
