Re: 2020-21 Season

So if the NCAA transfer waiver fails, is Garcia the starting PG? Does Buggs have enough to unseat Kolton as prime backup? Does Carl continue to start? Will Weeks return to form? Is Preston "the man" at the three? Who rises to the top at the four? Will Tre go for 20/20 some night? This should be eno...

Re: 2020-21 Season

I agree about Baptiste and Gasperini. Djery's offense was picking up as the season wore on, and he could rebound and defend. I think Mark will be serviceable, and Tony will work with him on what's needed from him. I disagree Noah might be a disappointment or underwhelming. He has the intangibles. He...

Re: 2020-21 Season

Tre's staying for 3 years. He'll then assess options. They've already said this. The staff's prioritizing a 4/5 for the 2021 class

Re: 2020 Recruiting

Niles, hearing anything new on DeGray's recruitment? You called Gasperini on the none. Anything on Frederick Scott? I like his game and , if DeGray doesn't pan out, he's a good option. To answer your question, they are actively recruiting Degray and will probably get him. I'm a little surprised. If...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

Sounds really solid. Welcome aboard, Mark!

It would be ideal if we could sign Richards to wrap up this class. Keeping it moving in the right direction..

Re: 2020-21 Season

Most likely starting 5, if Fernandes is eligible: Fernandes Pierre Santos Diallo Mitchell Starting 5 I'd most like to see: Fernandes Garcia Santos Diallo/Walker - can't decide Mitchell TJ seemed to be so effective no matter when/where he gets chucked in. I have the most questions about how Pierre fi...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

I’ve talked to a couple of people about Fernandes that have watched him play a bunch and I bet he starts with Garcia. I think he’s going to be eligible. To me what is going to be interesting is what happens with the other two spots. Random thoughts I'll put here: For the record, I'm sad to see Sean...

Why so salty, Floyd?

SAs transfer all the time. Most, if not all, of us aren't privy to the expectations and communications regarding each guy.

The key is really transparency, and I have no reason to believe the current staff isn't completely transparent with each person.

Re: Which (likely) returning playing will improve his game the most next year (2020-21)? Pick 2

Sean East. He can make a jump if he gets physically stronger. He should be able to improve his defense. He plays smaller than his height and will hopefully grow into a more impactful player, where he's grabbing rebounds, winning 50/50 balls, and making plays in the paint. Having a year in college un...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

Thanks, TheOFFSeason.

Gotta be frustrating to watch relationships trumped by connections to a 'financial advisor' or something.

When you say UMass hasn't wanted to play in the extra resource game, I'm assuming you mean individual coaching staffs, not the institution itself.

Re: 2020-21 Season

I agree we'll be better on paper next year in every respect. This is the year McCall earns his paycheck (and not by just taking lumps). The team turned it on once Kolton and Preston entered the starting lineup. I don't think that by itself had a ton to do with the improved play, but it looked like t...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

You, bet, Floyd. A lot of cause for optimism.

I'll be upping my donation. I considered donating it in the memory of Femi Odukale, but Jo Leon's convinced me he's the enemy.

Re: 2020 Recruiting

I haven't seen much chatter about McCrory lately and how he fits in. We have a lot of guards, but it's not clear one will break through to elite A-10-level. Garcia could be that, but we'd need one more, I think to make a giant leap. Getting TJ back is huge, no? Absolutely. I guess I'm thinking PG. ...
