Re: Game 1A: Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern total athletic budget = 29M vs our 50M. What's wrong with this picture? Not only are there the pressures that eldonabe mentioned, but comparing the total budget could be misleading because the schools are quite different in how they allocate those resources. Looking at EADA data, U...

It's another year closer to graduation, but without losing a year of eligibility. Could make grad transferring even more enticing.

Maybe Bell's GIF is a reference to the Minuteman missiles. Bit of a stretch?

Re: COVID-19 Discussion

Have you guys looked at the CDC's death number demographic? Just .1% of overall COVID deaths are under 25 years old and it goes up to a measly .8% under 35 years old. Can someone explain to me why all schools and colleges can't resume in the fall? The numbers don't support the argument. There are o...

Re: California law endorses college athletes getting paid/have agents

I know lots of people disagree but, isn't getting a 50k +/yr education with all the percs, academic support etc kind of "getting paid"? I'm sure there's tons of 18-22 yo kids who'd like that deal. Education and living expenses are great. Not only are there tons of 18-22 yo kids who'd like that, but...

^ Where is there even Chicken Parm on campus? I think Roots Cafe might have had it.

Famous Famiglia Pizza might have had it? But they've been gone since ~2016 or '17 AFAIK.

Re: COVID-19 Discussion

I think the ability to go outside depends on what you do for a living and where you're living right now. If I was back in NJ I might not be able to get outside as often. Hell under "normal" conditions with my commute I wasn't able to get sunlight that often except for on weekends and maybe for a few...

Re: COVID-19 Discussion

^ I thought the novel coronavirus was completely foreign to our immune systems. We hadn't been exposed to it before, so even at our healthiest... all the fresh air and sunlight in the world weren't going to magically produce the antibodies. Ironically I think I've gotten healthier. No commute and be...

Re: Alcohol

The only kinda regional thing I've seen the Mullins Center do is the "lobstah mac n' cheese". Which I have not had. Eating Lobster Mac and Cheese at Mullins is a risky proposition. Maybe I’ll try that. Luckily my season ticket seats are near the men’s room. I'm always weary when a food is intention...

This could be a starting point: https://www.foodnetwork.com/restaurants ... sachusetts

Malasadas would be a great concession dessert!

Concession stands could be themed and/or offer regional foods.

My go-to item as a student was the chicken basket and a little DIY Chick-fil-A sauce (Honey Mustard + BBQ).

And finally, will they serve a decent burger and make beer prices a little more fan friendly?
I thought the Mullins Center lacked an actual kitchen. Hard for a burger to be decent when it's been cooked off-site and sitting under heat lamps for hours on end.

Re: The rise of the UMass football program...

Unless we NEED a conference right now (which I trust the administration has a pulse on), I think we're best riding this out and hoping that there are larger forces at play that encourage conferences back towards regional/peer alignment.

Re: The rise of the UMass football program...

In most ways yes - we agree - no better deodorant than winning. However, winning in "big boy football" is not going to garner the same kind of bandwagon response as basketball because the "prize" kinda sucks.... Its going to be difficult for the masses to get a hard on for the Callahan Auto Parts B...
