Re: 2019 Season

Found this on a youtube video. Luke Paschall's special teams at Arkansas State ran this possum fake punt play in 2014 against Miami.

Re: 2019-20 season

^ Conn's latest dismissive wave came last week with the hiring of someone other than Tyson Wheeler as its new men's basketball coach. Tyson Wheeler: The most beloved athlete to ever hail from the 06320. The former whiz kid at New London High who grew up practicing the unspoken value of constant effo...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Many have posted that this class is in the top 40’s in the country, but if you look at those rankings, it’s kind of bogus. It’s based on the total number of recruits not the average ranking of each recruit. For example, there are some teams with 2 recruits who are just slightly behind UMass. But, i...

Re: 2018-2019 Season

WRT to Verdi losing coaches, they are going to "better" conferences and teams. Big East and AAC the last couple of years. I'm not worried about the future direction of this program. That is encouraging, or at least better than leaving for "lower" or lateral positions. Hopefully, the replacements ar...

Re: KAEO: Tre Wood

^^ Maybe also tells us that Tre isn’t up to the competition in the A10. My thing is what other conference is comparable to the a-10? I feel like a-10 may be the ultimate mid major where you can either go up or down but rarely see anyone go to a similar conference if one even exist MWC maybe? AAC on...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Anyone know when the recruiting services started? Maybe there were Top X players in magazines or something. McDonald's All Americans have been around since the late 70s.

But the idea of a composite 5 star recruit? How about a 2 two star? Is that a turn of the 21st century, dot com bubble thing?

2019-20 UMass Gives Campaign

Folks, 2018-19 marked an incredible year of growth, milestones, and exposure. In partnership with the athletic dept. we were able to launch a Student Rewards app garnering over 5,500 registered users (about 1 in 4 UMass undergrads). We launched new content and expanded our social media effort. Inclu...

Re: future scheduling talk

I think it is one of the main (only?) benefits of being an Indy - unlimited scheduling flexibility. It's not something that UMass necessarily benefits from, but Indy schools (such as BYU and ND) can also benefit from having their own media contracts. There's no collective bargaining, but they do ge...

With this, preceded by Marcus Camby tweeting at him, makes me wonder if the staff is whispering in their ear telling them MAW is someone they really want, because I don’t see them Tweeting at anyone else we’re recruiting.
Nice to see former players have a good relationship with the staff.

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

FWIW.. which probably means zero, we are rated 20 spots ahead of Rohde Island at #2 in the A-10 6with a lot of P5 teams between us including Michigan and North Carolina.. It would be more meaningful if the rating was for the entire roster but since it's for incoming recruits it's not such a big dea...

Re: State of the program

If we're talking Wichita, you can't forget about Koch.

But I'm not sure we're one to talk. It's not like the surrounding area around UMass is a bustling metropolis.
