Re: State of the Progam

Any QB is only as good as the depth of the O line in front of him, and receivers who can get open. Unlike bball, one needs a bunch of very good players in fb, else the QB is either hurt or ineffective. Yes. We have a good returning receiving corps and this line has actually performed better than I ...

Re: Game 12: BYU - 11/23/2019

I have NESN and still don't get the games. I pay to watch them on FLO. I don't feel bad for the BYU fans because the BYU Network isn't getting the TV rights. Make some money off them because they are going destroy UMass. Hey dennis, that trophy wife you were talkin about the other day don't let u w...

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

Hate to break it to you, the private schools know exactly what their competition (UMass) costs and they'll come close to it but the only ones that are cheaper are far inferior schools. Your kid like mine may qualify for different UMass scholarships that bring it closer to $25k per year but the aver...

I think Martin will be good...I’m not certain though...
If he is that good he shouldn’t redshirt IMO. But, if we get a JUCO or grad student one year rental I wouldn’t mind seeing him redshirt.

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

There's nothing cheap about the cost of a UMass education. I just heard $130,000 for 4 years on WBZ or WCRN this morning. In fact, it's NOT much less. UMass is one of the most expensive public universities, not the cheapest, that is not in the AAU. 130,000 is an inflated price. For in state student...

Re: State of the Progam

My point is, he makes it sound like finding two good quarterbacks in one recruiting cycle is simple. The guy’s posts just make me laugh, that’s all. And given the way Bell thinks regarding starting quarterbacks, who says next year he will be starting the best at the position. missed the point...

Re: State of the Progam

^^^^ Gee, that's all...just two QBs?   I guess there's no need to worry about the defense next year. Steve wrote the number one thing not only. If we had competent QB play yesterday, alone we would have increased TOP and scored two maybe three TDs. Both of those things don’t directl...

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

Umass has spent 10 seasons getting kicked around in every way possible. The jump in apps is due to financial pressures in parents, students and the college debt accrued. UMass offers a very good to exclent education with much for much less. F There's nothing cheap about the cost of a UMass education....

Re: Dan Shaughnessy

A little fun personal story, for me at least. We were at my brothers high school playoff hoops game against Newton North in I want to say 2009 or 2010 and Shaugnessy was there either covering it or maybe he knew someone with a kid on Newton. Either way I'm there with my dad and I notice him and I s...

Re: State of the Progam

^^^^^ Meehans comments were not that shocking to me, he’s well versed in passing the buck as a lifetime MA pol. UMass system presidents have consistently undermined the real and only UMass for decades. This is just another case of that. It’s annoying but predictable from that office. Move the physi...

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

Not sure how you can say this wasn't a brutally honest assessment. This was the most mishandled "move up" any of us have ever seen. I've grown tired of hearing how well get some great recruits because they'll be offered playing time. Blah blah blah.... So you think we should move back down? That is...

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

^ While I wish the article wasn’t written, and I don’t like his tone, overall, it’s an honest and accurate assessment of the current situation. I don’t support dropping the FBS effort today, but I can see why many people would. It’s not an honest assessment. It is a biased article trying to dismant...

The quote in the gazette article from Bell trying to keep the defense off the field by controlling pace was mind boggling. Pretty sure I saw us play hurry up the whole game....

Re: Game 10: "The Greatest Gameday Experience in America"

Fallon should be the starter in the last two games to establish competition going into the offseason. Oh, also because he can make a throw to the sideline from the opposite hash.
