Re: Umass and UConn Conference USA

Not really advocating for Liberty just stating one possible conclusion in that it could very well be the place religious great athletes go to play. As far as conference realignment there is definitely going to be a shakeup in the 20s. The NCAA as we know it, will be no more. At least 24-32 schools w...

Re: Umass and UConn Conference USA

I have said all along that we need to be paired with UConn and no I have not abandoned B1G dreams(see below).. That said what I would like to see is a football indy alliance of UMass UConn Temple Navy Buffalo Army Liberty (Liberty could be national powerhouse in all sports in 20 years.. the non Cath...

Re: UConn back to the Big East?

One thing for sure the next big shakeup is about to commence. Texas is the key domino. They will either join the SEC, stop blocking Big 12 expansion, or go INDY themselves (forming a Big 3 with ND and USC).

Re: UConn back to the Big East?

Umass next to join Big east. USF and UCF headed to Big 12. Temple and Buffalo to A10. UMass, UConn, Temple, Buffalo, Army, Navy, Liberty form alliance or even a small conf for football which will make scheduling much easier with 6 built in games. Who knows who else would end up as Indy in Football?

Re: UConn to Big East 2020

One of my many predictions coming true at long last. I totally expect UMass to join the Big East.

From the brilliant mind of Steve Maz.. Penny Hardaway.. Hmm

Just saw Hardaway has now secured the #1 recruiting class for 2019 which by far is the most important job as a head coach these days. So, when we are looking for our next coach in two years I will be the first on the Camby train!

Re: future scheduling talk

I suspect we will hear about home and home with UCF for 2021/22 and then also a P5 road game for 2021.

I didn't scroll through, but I still like Smith and Sutton circa 86-87.

Re: State of the program

I would have canned McCall, but now it seems clear that he is going to get 2 years to turn it around. Tony B would only take job if two years were guaranteed and I suspect that will help in landing Mitchell, whom they desperately need. If they do, I envision a starting 5 of Mitchell Thomas or Chatma...

I guess I am a bit surprised Wood is leaving, but I do not think he was going to be a key guy going forward.

Re: Should McCall be given a third year

Absolutely NOT.. I noticed our budget is middle of the pack in the A10 and well below Dayton. Hire a better coach.. Pitino! We win the A10 in his second year..

Re: future scheduling talk

I am wondering if more shifting around will happen as we now have 2 FCS games in 2021 and start 2022 with 5 road games. I am hoping there is some sort of larger renovation project in the works for 2022 or 2023.
