Re: KAEO: Sean East

Sean started for Bradley today vs. Toledo and led the team in minutes (33), assists (8), rebounds (6) and turnovers (3). Hated to see him go, but doubt we'll miss him much given Noah Fernandes, Kolton and Javohn.

Re: 2020-21 Season

Early morning tweet today from Rothstein: Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein UMass is aiming to end its quarantine and return to practice on Thursday, per Matt McCall. Wondering if that practice on Thanksgiving Day would be in bubbleville, leading to games there. Nothing on any schedule that I've seen, so ...

Re: 2020-21 Season

^
Thanks for this reference, 69MG.

The schedule looks like at least 8-9 road games from November until January 9, with only 1 at home set so far (GMU December 30). Maybe some non-conference opponents come to Amherst. Perhaps no fans anyway anywhere means little home court advantage.

Re: 2020-21 Season

Not sure UMass will take on a similar schedule, but Rhody has scheduled 4 at Mohegan Sun (in 5 days). Their schedule has 6 games in the first 10 days, without much travel. It has Wed, Nov 25 vs. Stephen F. Austin Thu, Nov 26 vs. Towson Sat, Nov 28 vs. South Florida Sun, Nov 29 vs. Temple Wed, Dec 2 ...

Re: 2020-21 Season

Not sure about Iona on November 29, although both teams are supposed to be at Mohegan Sun that day. The UMass announcement lists Pod Two: Delaware (CAA), Siena (MAAC), and UMass (Atlantic 10) Pod Three: Buffalo (MAC), Iona (MAAC), and Vermont (America East) Pod Four: Towson (CAA), St. Bonaventure (A...

Re: 2020-21 Season

Not sure where they got this, but ESPN has UMass on the Saturday December 12 schedule at NorthEastern. Reasonable. Some schools have their schedules dribbling out. We don't seem to be headed in a direction that would support having fans in Boston. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/schedul...

Re: 2020 A10 Offseason News

Bad news for a team that some projected as battling for top spots in the A10:

"Richmond guard and captain Nick Sherod has been ruled out of the upcoming basketball season after tearing the ACL in his right knee at practice last week, coach Chris Mooney said Monday"

Re: 2020-21 Season

If Fairfield gets on this year's UMass schedule, it will be within the 2-week period where the MAAC will play non-conference, given today's announcement from them:

"Nonconference games will take place between Nov. 25 and Dec. 6, with conference play beginning in men's basketball on Dec. 8"

Re: 2020-21 Season

According to CBS Sports, the season will start on Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ncaa-committees-pushing-for-nov-25-as-the-start-date-for-the-2020-21-college-basketball-season/ starts by saying "The NCAA's women's basketball oversight com...

Re: 2020-21 Season

First impression is this is a favorable schedule for Wins, if not for NET ratings (which could be hard to get if the season starts in, say, January). Of the 6 teams that look toughest, we get 5 at home, only StL and Duq on the road, and only StL twice. Road wins are always hard to come by; LaS, Ford...

Re: 2020 A10 Offseason News

not sure it belongs in this thread, but here's yesterday's tweet of interest: Armored Athlete @ArmoredAthlete Y’all thought we were done? Former @UMassBasketball and San Antonio Spurs draft pick Cady Lalanne was 2nd in PPG and RPG in the KBL this season. This summer he’s bringing his talents to Armo...

Re: 2020-21 Season

I agree that Rothstein's analysis is fair, noting that he has URI 6th based on them getting waivers granted for the talented transfers. If Noah Fernandes got a waiver and URI's Mitchells don't, we should easily finish ahead of them. I think we're better if no-one gets waivers also. I also have been ...
